new bosch injectors Teflon seal not compressed?

Shouldn’t these have a metal piece on here that keeps them compressed?

Do I need to compress them or just apply some assembly oil and install?

Was told I did not need the tool kit for brand new injectors

You'll need decoupling elements. They're metal rings that snap in place, no tool needed. Should be part #13537577649

Both that and the Teflon seals are pre installed. I just thought the Teflon seals had a metal piece that keeps them compressed. But it doesn’t appear so.

Just trying to figure out if I can install them

Your picture does not show the decoupling element installed.

Hi, did you compressed seal somehow before install? My Bosch injector just arrived and it looks exactly the same as yours. Not sure what to do next. Zip ties method seems doable as describe here: https://www.thedrive.com/guides-and-...r-seal-service but is it necessary?

With new injectors you don’t need to resize the Teflon seal. That is for reusing existing injectors and the Teflon seal is a mandatory replacement item every time you reuse an injector and must be resized once it is installed. I’ve done both. As has been pointed out you must install the decoupling element on the new injector. Your original injector you removed had it.
