I just added an xbox 360 prem to my collection.. Got it on ebay for $235... I just coudlnt stand the PS3 not having any good games out.. I am still keeping the PS3 in hopes times will change.

about the blu-rays

i can't remember where, but i remembered seeing one of the business chains having a sale on blu-rays...it was like 20 bucks each right now?

Theres a sale on amazon right now for blu-ray. Buy 1 get one free. Works out to about 10-12 dollars each movie including free shipping!

Like Sony has done in the past though, they come up with better format or compression yada yada but it doesn't take off because they put to many restrictions in place in order to use it. You would think they would learn their lesson, but no. Blu-ray will die despite being superior, so don't buy a ps3 for that.

Backwards compatibility is overrated imo. It's rare that I play an older game through again. Most often, I load it up, play it for a few mins, realize it wasn't as good as I remembered and then load a newer game and play that instead.

eh, I'm a big gamer and I would love to have it..makes life a lot easier and when I do play older games, I play them for awhile..so yeah.

Blu ray has more support and backing... The only reason HD-DVD is around is blu ray is more expensive at the moment, but prices are coming down.. If you look at the raw data that blu ray can hold vs HD-DVD is like comparing a dual layer DVD around 8.5 gigs (blu ray) to a 700mb CD (HD-DVD).
