There's a really cool Stanley Cup shirt at Dick's (do not go to dicks.com, try dickssportinggoods.com) with the roster on the back, kinda cool since Versteeg probably and probably Sharp will be gone next year

On my walk back yesterday some dude on the sidewalk was selling shirts for $10 with the roster on the back, so I picked one up. He probably stole them all but that's alright

I think I'm really only upset about Ladd. I like Buff, but I really like Ladd. Versteeg i wont miss at all.

Buff and Versteeg were very inconsistent players, I am not surprised at all. Ladd, Burrish, and Madden are casualties I'm willing to accept given the fact that we keep the people that IMO are difference makers: Toews, Kane, Niemi, Kieth, Sharp, Hossa, etc...

The problem is that previous management (while buying good players) overspent and anyone with any consideration for their sal cap problems down the line, it's a good thing they won this year bc they were overspending for a lot of players and contracts were constructed in such a way where seemingly key players will have to be traded. The thing I'm happy about is that the core players are still intact, surround them with a good supporting cast and they will be just fine

Yeah, I was never a huge fan of Versteeg. It seemed that every time i was watching a game and Edzo said "that was a bad decision," he was almost always referring to Versteeg. I agree that the core players are the difference makers, and its good they are locked up for long term deals. I also heard the Hawks could be players in the free agent market. We need a big guy that can bang and be an agitator now that Buff, Burish, and Ladd are gone.

Meh. I heard that a lot with Hjalmarsson in the playoffs, surprisingly.

You guys should be fine. The core players are still there, and the free agent market is always ripe with role players. As long as you fill the roles necessary to allow your core players to flourish, you'll stay strong.

Hell, it's what the Wings did for years, and it seemed to work pretty well for them.

I didnt really hear that much about Hjalmarsson, but I regulary heard it about Versteeg. I like Hjalmarsson a lot, and he is going to get better as he gets older. But I wont miss Versteeg at all. He had his moments, but seemed to make a lot of "bad decisions" according to Edzo during the season.
