Repairs Rant.

-friends mom hits car
-thinks damage is $500, is actually $3600
-wants to pay out of pocket, I go running around getting estimates for a week cuz they think I'm scamming them.
-realizes repairs are expensive, asks me to pay half since I was "illegally parked in her way"
-realizes half is still too much, goes through insurance.
-insurance says go to shop A get an estimate.
-shop A's estimate is purposely low since I admitted I'm going to shop B.
-shop B has issues getting supplements from USAA.
-I go to Enterprise to get rental car, they say I have coverage for full size/truck.
-they only have a Ram, Town and Country, Hyundai Elantra.
- I take the Ram.
-2 weeks go by, shop B has my car apart and still is having issues getting money.
-they get money, repairs start.
-1 week later they tell me the car will be ready the next day.
- they call the next day saying itll be one more day due to detail, no worries from me.
-same day I get a call from enterprise, THE RENTAL WAS NEVER FUCKING APPROVED BY USAA. there's now a $400 hold, and I'm responsible for paying for the car. I look at USAA's rental guide, they pay for small/intermediate and I have to pay for the insurance. So now I'm guessing I'll have to pay for 3 weeks difference of Ram/Elantra, AND the insurance at about $20 per day. I don't wanna pay $700-800 right now for something THAT WASN'T EVEN MY FAULT GGGRRRRR. and I just blew $2K on mods. Yay.

-on a happy note I get my car tomorrow.

+ a big f'n 1!

I would have immediately turned it over to my insurance and let them go after her..., that's why i pay them an arm and a leg. It's been my experience that anytime someone is at fault, and they want to haggle, you are going to get dicked.

Damn that sucks dude. Glad things are going well for you, but definitely should have reviewed your policy before getting your rental. USAA went thru my rental policy in great detail before I went to the rental place so I knew what I could and couldn't have and how many miles I was allowed.
