Anyone tried getting their money back from their credict card company?

I recently got scammed on eBay, anyone know if I can get the money back from the credict card company? Ok here is what happened, I bought a pair of designer jeans on eBay for $260 dollars! Then I got an empty box shipped to me! I paid using Paypal; I know I can file a dispute to Paypal, but it is passed the 45 days mark. So I am guessing right now my only chance is with my credict card company. BTW, I use Visa.

If you give a little description about what happened someone might be able to help. I feel your pain btw, I've suffered fraud once on Ebay.

Depends on which credit card company. American Express fights for you. If you dispute, they will take the charge off and investigate. If they find you are right then they will remove it for good

Yeah, AMEX is the bomb with this stuff.

I'm sure other companies will do that same, you just may have to do more leg work.

It took you 45 days to figure out the box was empty?

Credit cards usually side with the purchaser, you'll probably get your money back.

just call them and say the charge was not authorized by you. most of the time, they don't give a shit. they'll refund you the $$ and that's probably the last you'll ever hear about it...at least that's been my experience. the worst that can happen is you'll have to get new CC numbers.

i did it once when i lost $500 one night doing online poker, i was shitfaced and don't really remember doing it...called and said some nigerian stole my card and got all the money back. i never heard a complaint once from bank of america, although i did get an email from whichever online casino it was calling me an asshole, etc.
