Cant say I am buying this rally...could see 10 more pts higher on SPX but then selling resumes...if we don't reverse this week then theory all wrong and bull back on.

The expanded daily range, increased volatility and Dow swinging over 100 pts/day happens during IT bears not bulls(although you can see it at very beginnings of bulls).

This week the moment of truth for me.

+1

Intra day volatility and large swings are worrisome indeed

today is the moment of truth...if my theory correct we need to reverse today or tomorrow...otherwise I was wrong(I was thinking low 1800's for the bottom but maybe 1850ish is all we get) and we already had the bottom.

So next few days will be telling for me.

High P/E stock earnings won't look good. I bet 8/10 won't be good.

Prena what are your thoughts on TVIX? The greedy and reckless part of me wants to get back in sometime soon, but the rational side of me says that I'm not going to get lucky twice unless I actually know what I'm doing (which I don't).

I'll probably chicken out and stay on the sidelines either way

I had a ton of spy dec 195c I bought 12 days ago at $2.00. I sold them at $2.25 that next day. I think they're over $10 now. Fml.

First, Congrats on your s&p500 voli index fund trade!

I agree with most of people here on the market movement, except few.
Even IF S&P500 recovers Nearly Upto the highs, High beta and/or High P/E , maybe rus2000 stocks will most likely not recover as much relative to increase % of S&P500.

TVIX can be a good place to get into , IF this upcoming holiday sales slumps.
TVIX is a better trade than those bear index funds when it is at or near or little after relative max.
I think your trade on volatility index fund trading prior to OCT was little early, but smarter move than what I did.

People who are on the sideline needs to get back into some sort of investing. Happens to be that high dividends paying, low p/e, < 1.5beta, and buyback companies are mainly recovering in this rally.

I am mainly on the sideline, except the small quantity of AMD shares I acquired. Now, let me go inside the closet and

So is QE over? Can precious metals finally flush 10-20% in the coming weeks to signal an end to their bear market?

QE is over but rates should remain low, can't speak on the metals

TWTR a buy? I had my eye on it looking to get in at $45. Nearly $40 now, not sure how much further it will go.

I was tempted as well but I'm waiting for it to hit $38 before I dive in. I don't have any technical analysis on it though.

Tim Cook comes out and stockholders go crazy. Keep dropping so I can load up some more.

Precious metals crashing just as I predicted. You need a mega flush to put in a bottom on these things as they've been in a bear market for many years.

Taser Intl with good sales rev from Axiom.
I am not too excited with their Taser X2 and X3 series, but Axiom and cloud service would be a winner after Furgeson ordeal.

Hoping APPL breaks 110 sometime this week, otherwise I might sell off all my shares.

Also holding onto BIDU right now and looking to sell very soon.

October has been a very good month for me actually, my portfolios net worth is at an all time high and that kind of makes me want to sell off and reassess things.
