Low Pressure Fuel Sensor Replacement While Walnut Blasting

I'm getting the 29F3 code from my car, and I know that doesn't necessarily mean that it needs to be replaced right away but I'm getting my car walnut blasted in a month or so and was wondering if I should just replace the sensor while getting it done sense most of the major parts will be out of the way? ECS has a replacement sensor for $84 dollars so it doesn't seem to be too bad. Thanks for all your help!

Do you know if it's the sensor, or is it actually the fuel pump dying?

I had the fuel pump replaced about 15,000 miles ago with the most updated version so I would assume its not the fuel pump

Yes, replace it. Very easy to do once the mani is off.

P29F3 is a failing LPFP sensor, nothing else i've heard of causes it.

This sensor you refer too is the one of the feed line to the HPFP right? If so, yea... I would replace it while the intake manifold is off. I'vee lots of guys say this sensor goes bad. Most dealers even seem to want to do a COD(ie you pay!) repair while replacing the HPFP under the extended warranty('08's thru '10's N54's).

Has your HPFP been replaced before? Maybe this sensor has been replaced and can be replaced again? (under a parts warranty). IF it was replaced as part of a HPFP, BMW would foot the entire bill. ~$84 doesn't sound bad for the sensor though. I would just replace it yourself or have the shop that is doing your walnut blasting.

Thank you guys! Yeah I had the HPFP replaced about 15,000 miles ago, but the replacement of the sensor was not on the work order. I'll talk to my service guy about refunding it but in all honesty a $84 sensor is something I don't mind footing myself.

I replaced mine at the same time the valve cleaning service was performed.
