I dont think they would have done that with this one. It's pretty much a national shit so the government would hunt down the guy that kills the turtle and kill him. The only reason why they're letting the researchers take the turtle is that they're trying to repopulate the species.

I saw a model of the turtle and it's fucking huge! It's probably not that much bigger than the giant turtoise/turtles that you see on the Discovery channel though. I guess the only mystery was that this is believed to be the mythical turtle and believe me, people have been trying to find it for years!! Crazy shit!

At the Hilton in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, there is a big ass turtle the lives in the bushes next to the pool. About 3 feet long!
