It's a Gulf paint theme that the 917 wore, but so did the GT40 and the recent GT had it as an option. There's been talk that the 918 may have it as part of the Weissach package.

I have an embarrassing number of things in the Gulf color scheme too, even one with gold wheels:

The wheels look nice. I absolutely HATE that "ride height." It's totally useless and looks hideous.
Way to ruin a classic paint scheme from a true historic racing icon too.
