Interesting exhaust note

I did some work on my exhaust and had no idea this is actually what it sounded like on the road. Please excuse the poor audio quality and loud brz cam car, listen with headphones and 720p to get a good idea of the exhaust note.

The exhaust is very low and pretty quiet until it's revved up high. My friend says the note is unique and describes it as "exotic". I can't put my finger on how to describe the sound or a comparison, let me know what you guys think.

E92 328i N51
-Rogue Engineering iKon muffler
-resonator & secondary cat delete (straight pipe)
-afe stage 2 enclosed intake
-AA tune
-328i to 335i dual tip conversion
-resonated 4" tips

I been rocking this setup ever since Ikon came out with this exhaust. Im striaght up from headers back no secondary cats 2.75inch pipping i believe no resonator. Sounds exactly like that, I ditched the intake it was way to loud after a while.

Its a pure sleeper exhaust its so quiet while just driving normally but once you hit it its liek WTF does this guy have.

I'm glad you understand what I'm going for! I like subtle and simple instead of loud and throwing on as many things on as possible.

So you have the same exact setup but with wider pipes? I have the same oem 2-2.5" dimensions. Do you have any recordings?

Were there any draw backs removing the secondary cats? Like huge mpg loss, Check engine or any other lights, Drone, ect..? I have a remus Quad on my e92 328 and I have removed the resonator but The sound is not quite there. I was either looking to remove 2ndary Cats, or increase piping from Cat back to 3". Any help would be great thanks!

Nope, only happiness from me here. I highly recommend it. I would also discourage you from increasing your piping diameter. Dual 2.5" is fine for 3.0 i6, you would lose back pressure with 3" and while it would be louder, it wouldn't sound very good.

If you still have the muffler its not a straight pipe.
I would of kept the cats, and removed the resonator and muffler. So you get a nice back fire pop sound like stashtrey.
You in south bay?

I said resonator and secondary cats replaced with straight pipe. Some people hollow out their cats which basically creates a resonator resulting in a different sound. While muffler delete does create the cool backfire sound, it is way too loud and obnoxious for my taste. Yes I'm in south bay.

I hacked off the hangers and tips, flipped the muffler around so outlets are in the middle for even flow, then routed them accordingly. This way, I can use a full-sized muffler, have dual outlets, and also keep my storage container

nice set up. I had a similar set up with a magnaflow and its went through its stages. as of now, the muffler sits where the resonator was and there are straight pipes from there on back
