328i de-tuned - reprogramming possible?

Hi,

Here in Thailand the BMW 328i comes as a 160 kW (218 PS; 215 hp) / 310 Nm (229 lbft).

Some suggests that reprogramming could be possible - using Autologic. And somehow change the language code or similar, to allow the engine utilize a different program 180 kW (245 PS; 241 hp) / 350 Nm (258 lbft) as sold in the states and many other countries.

Any thoughts?

Not that this helps with the re-programming, but I have a BMS JB4 that you can try if you wanted to go that route.

Can I ask how much difference it made?

I'm considering a BMS Stage 1 as a solution - hoping it gets round the restriction and adds in a little extra.

Massive difference, completely changed the character of the car IMO. On the X28 it should have a similiar effect, especially with the detuned motors we get here.

I'm more than happy to provide a test drive if there was interest - glad to see more Bkk folks on here.

Would you mind providing some info on how did you get your hands on BMS products here? Was it through a dealer or did you just ordered directly from Burger Motorsports? I'm thinking about getting a stage I tune, but I couldn't find any dealer who carries and installs these products.
Thanks in advance

Had a friend carry it over from the US actually.

Thai dealers generally won't touch/install anything aftermarket (or even OEM that wasn't bought from them), so we're on our own installation-wise (or find a shop).

That being said, the stage 1 can be installed in under 15 minutes, very simple.

You should consider going to Autowerks BKK and get a proper tune on your car, or even a stage 2. I took my 1-series in, and went from 136hp to 220hp
