I'm in the Tech Center. My M3 was covered during the storm, but my wife was out in her SUV. Luckily, the hail was only pea-sized, so no damage.

Which M3 is yours? I'm a 2009 E92, Silverstone II, lowered, with Active Autowerks exhaust and a few other mods.

Going into Cherry Creek State Park earlier this week I was behind a black on black E92 with a wild exhaust and some other mods. There was an event at the yacht club that he seemed to be headed for, as I went on into the park for photography.

Glad to hear the M3 was undamaged. I live in Highlands Ranch and work near Colorado and Cherry Creek. I drive a 2012 Frozen Silver with Evolve II exhaust and tune. I would love to hear yours. Happy motoring.

Thanks Dave. It was a patient bird, and allowed me to use two cameras. Here is the same bird with the 7D using the 300mm + 2XTC. You can see the difference in the lack of detail compared to the 5D. I know it's not a scientific comparison, but still useful to me. Probably too much NR on this one, but if you look at the neck, you can see where I messed up with the brush, and look at the noise in the sky before post.

I agree, but I think it's mostly a dynamic range issue, with the whites close to blowing out on the 7D. They require different processing, pulling the highlights down further on the 7D. The much older sensor may not have as much information to recover. Theoretically, the 7D should have more detail, but we're talking about three or four generations difference.

i sure hope that the 7D MkII closes this gap.
