Learning languages

I love learning languages. I want to learn so many, but as it is I get them confused lol. Is it really hard to learn more than two? I speak English, Spanish, and a decent amount of Italian. I know very little French and Latin. I would like to learn German and Japanese, but maybe it just isn't worth it. Does anyone here get confused easily? I know a lot of Europeans speak many different languages. Anyone speak more than three languages?

I like differnet languages but I hate learning them. I have horrible memory!

I speak English, Vietnamese, and Spanish. I'm okay at Spanish. I can hold a conversation, and I was able to speak it when I went to Mexico, but I'm definitely on the best at it. I also know very little Japanese. Very little.

I also know American Sign Language but you don't really speak it. My aunt and uncle are deaf so I picked it up as a kid.

hmm, i'm originally from europe so i can speak 3+1 languages fluently (+1 because i haven't had a chance to speak french in 4-5 years) and understand/read about 3 or 4 more. i really don't have any problems switching from one to the other, it's like something gets switched in my head and i'm right in. the only problem i have is avoiding common terms and expressions from one language to another, like "i feel a little under the weather." say that in french, and you're gonna get some weird looks back...

many americans have no drive to learn new languages because they already speak one that is internationally accepted. so, more power to you, nikki!

Er I speak Dutch(duh), Frisian(oldest official language in my country but less spoken), English, German and Spanish and I understand Portuguese and Danish.

But I DO LOVE to learn languages. A Italian Ferrari Manual booklet would'nt be a problem either

EDIT:
Come to think of it I understand French 50% LOL
and I understand South African(somewhat Dutch)

I speak korean & english.
Learning Japanese in university courses, and learning spanish from my girlfriend(no, she is not hispanic).

Japanese is so easy to learn. I am going to learn chinese soon(considering how big that country is going to get), but DAMN, writing a sentence in chinese is like drawing few hundred pictures.

Ebonics is not a language. It's an attempt to legitimize the use of Ebonics in mainstream English which hopefully will never happen. It’s sad enough that Ebonics is capitalized nowadays.

It's just shows how uneducated people are mostly. Considering I was giving a briefing on Islam here and sure enough 3 people that were black tried to ask a question and I couldn't understand them...they use Ebonics so much they cannot even speak proper American version of English.

I's should be capitalized.

languages

It always helps to know a language other than English, especially if you tend to travel a lot. For example, when I spoke spanish in European countries such as France, Italy and Spain, I was treated more kindly than I was when speaking english. I suppose people do have negative predispositions about americans. However, speaking spanish can't always save you from harsh treatment by anti-american europeans, because your clothes can be a dead giveaway sometimes! Anyone else experience this?

Eh, your Ebonics could use a little polishing. It should be: Hit daaht bak ah(t, almost silent)may pluer.

I speak Dutch, German and English. In high school I learned French, but I forgot all about it (except for the usual easy stuff that a tourist needs).. I've tried to learn Italian once, but I didn't had the patience..
