I say it like Beemer I guess. Like if you say "seen her" too fast, then it'll ryhme with it.
Beamer

Come again....you pronounce Bimmer not like swimmer but like 'Cleaner'?
In which case, what is all the fuss about? You yanks crack me up - with all due respect you understand

Say beam her 10 times fast, and on the 6 or 7th time, thats how I say it.
Its beeemer, like bee, little yellow/black flying furry stinging thing, with -mer on the end.

I would venture to suggest that outside the US, 'BM' is more commonly used than 'Bimmer'.

The Americans know a whole lot about advertisement and ways to rally the nation into thinking they are the worlds best. I guess they follow the trends that American nationalistic teachers try to impose on the students. I enjoyed belittling my teachers with facts everytime they would try to argue that America won everything or that without them the world would have imploded by now. I thought BM was Bavarian Motorwerks.

Don't get me wrong - I love it here: big houses, lots of land, more than 1/2 a car per family.
I just wish the TV and the beer was better and the US would build a car that I would want to own. Disclaimer - I have a 74 Vette and a late model Suburban - both do their job: The Vette goes fast in a straight line, wakes the dead and makes people look. The Burb hauls wife, kids and dogs plus a ton a cargo to vacation spots 500 miles away with ease. Plus it has a TV in it to watch er... American TV

See 'my garage'. The Vette has all the usual small block stuff done to it - headers, pipes, manifold, cam etc. The Burb has 20" rims, reflashed ECM (for economy), and other minor things.

Funny someone should mention this.
I've always called BMWs bimmer, but one of my HK friends say "bm", while my british colleague calls it "bimmer"... go figure.. |

haha, love the pimped out burban with the external storage on the roof rack Nice vette, my roommate is almost done rebuilding his 69 Camaro. Talk about BMW being fine for low fuel economy, this thing will get 8 miles to the gallon....

Everybody always said “BM” when I was growing up in Europe and Africa. I’d never heard of anyone using that term to describe a bowel movement until I came to the US. Anyhow, I continue to say BM and I don’t care if ppl look at me strangely.
And, yes – “du-bel-you” adds 3 syllables for a total of 5, and that’s a lot for my lazy mouth |
