That would be a dream come true to be able to drive on the legendary Nurburgring.

A friend of mine did, he is a 'professional' photographer for some Dutch car mags.

OK, here is a little story:

I was doing a lonely lap and going rather fast but 'suddenly' I saw a black dot in my rearviewmirror. After a while the dot became a Porsche 996GT2/Turbo and he was beinge very correct and taking the bends slower than I did...But on a 'straight end' he was passing me with such brutal force, like a missile, man, I was like:WTF :rocks:

Later on the parking lot the car was standing in front of my car, it had a black licenceplate which I didn't know(Russia?) but happened to be Liechtenstein(a very small state near Austria).

A young BEAUTIFUL model like girl(Spanish looking) got out of the car(her 'husband' stll in the car) and I told my friend (the guy next to me in the car):I'm going to ask her!
He replied:To take her out for a date ort what?
No, moron, how many horses this Techart Porsche has!

So I asked her in English:How many horses does this car have?
She replied with her beautiful smile: Wot huh?Wass?

"Do you speak English?"
"No, sorry..."
"Deutsch?"(German)
"Ja sicher"(yes off course)
"OK wie viel PS sind d'rin?"(How many HP?)

"Ach so, Ich frage meinem Mann.."(Ok, I'll ask my husband)

Guy shouted to me with a big smile: SECHSHUNDERT!

Actually, we have a quite famous temporary racetrack here in Nurnberg, the Norisring. It's a city course, very narrow and pretty fast.

www.norisring.de (sorry, all german)

It's part of the Touring Car Championship and Formula 3 Championship.

You don't have to do that - since you are likely to end up in Irak

Just plan to visit during a most excellent European vacation.

A meet there would be great if we could actually manage to be there at the same time. I'm planning on being there for the European Grand Prix (May 5-7) I'll probably see if I can take a few laps while I'm there too if they have the Nordschlife open that is. I'll definitely be taking it slow though, Don't want to hurt my 2 week old car.

I think its like 10 euros. I never been there, but I want to. It would be worth practicing on some game system. GT4 on playstation works well I think.
