I dont think Lewis will get mad at the Merc. Look how horrible McLaren is looking this year.

Kimi!

Loved Hamilton's pass on Alonso with the brakes locked up.

According to Webber no telemetry on the grid and no KERS first 20 laps....

Disasppointing to say the least since I really would like to see him have a great season

IIRC it wasn't a pass. Hamilton was already ahead, locked up and set himself to be overtaken after the turn because Alonso carried a lot more speed out of it.

Agreed. It'll be interesting if Massa can keep this up throughout the season. I, for one, like that Ferrari kept him and didn't replace him with Perez.

glad Kimi won, at first it seemed like the last couple of season, Webber cant get off the line and finger boy easily pulls away but thanks to better pit strategy both Kimi and Alonso were able to get past him.

thought LH had a solid race, specially w/ what people were saying about Merc, it seemed McLaren really missed him w/ both Button and Perez finishing way back and were never really in the race.

as far as the coverage, im already liking NBC better than speed, the picture in picture commercial were an improvement, just wish they would have done it on all commercials.

Red Bull blamed McLaren's ECU caused Webbo's poor start?
Wasn't that a trend for years???

Especially given no one was really surprised when he bogged down when the lights out.

http://en.espnf1.com/mclaren/motorsp...ry/103420.html

Quote:
Martin Whitmarsh says McLaren will investigate claims from Christian Horner that an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) glitch caused Mark Webber's poor start in Australia.

Webber dropped from second to seventh at the start of yesterday's race with Horner saying: "Mark's problems were hugely frustrating because it was an ECU issue and that is supplied by a third party - I'll let you guess who that is.

"We lost all telemetry on the formation lap and then you can't do the preparation you need to at the start. That meant he was blind for the start and that ECU issue shut the KERS down as well. So by the time we reset the whole system he'd lost the ground at the start. It's something that they need to get on top of because there has been a lot of issues during testing."

McLaren Electronic Systems supplies the ECUs to all the teams but made changes to its "bulletproof" design in preparation for the new 2014 regulations. While Whitmarsh said McLaren would look in to the issues, he also aimed a retort that they could have been caused by Red Bull itself.

"We'll put our hands up if it's a fault that's derived from the hardware or the BIOS (basic input-output system)," Whitmarsh told Sporting Life. "You can also inflict ECU problems on yourself by how you set it up, but I will look into it. I'll be disappointed if it is our fault because in F1, NASCAR and IndyCar, we've not yet stopped a car, and we're very proud of that record."

Easy to blame his past poor starts on this poor start but without sounding biased could well be something more to it?

We forgot the "throat cutting" Sutil had a solid race. Lead the race for a while and made the two stop works.

I think hamilton felt "thank god I don't have to stuck with another POS like 2009 again". More than McLaren misses him. Sad that McLaren was stuck again like 2009.

Big improvement from NBC Sports, but overall format is pretty much like what SPEED used to have.

Frustrated as a McLaren fan....
They had a good car last year, then they scrap it and reinventing the wheel.

If I'm Martin Witmarsh, I'll ban the idea of pull rod suspension and just improve the 2012 car with great upgrades. Look what happened to Ferrari last year?

(So, did McLaren copy Ferrari's work again??? )

YEAH KIMI!!!!

Lotus really caught the others out with their tire wear. Not much time till Malaysia for them to do anything about it.

Weber is a joke when it comes to starts. He is the worst when it comes to starts. If you ask my wife who has the worst starts in F1, she knows it's Weber LOL!

I agree, E90SLAM. As a long-time Ferrari fan, I always want to see McLaren up there. The Ferrari-McLaren rivalry is nothing short of a saga. And I've no doubt that they will bounce back, if not by the end of season then by the next.

That being said, I think that McLaren may struggle with their driver lineup. Perez is not, in my opinion, impressive enough, and the same goes for Jenson.

It was a pass. FA had him beat and was ahead. LH just out-braked him, lit up his tires, and lost the position immediately

Plus, you can't truly call it a pass if it wasn't held.

Even with the POS car, I didn't expect them to be so far down the grid.
Last three years, the car was relatively competitive. It was down to various of problems and set up. This year was fundamentally horrible, reminiscent to 2009.

With all the changes on this years car, I wonder if they're actually testing new ideas for next year?

McLaren made quite a few mistakes already this season. This is the first year they run with a high nose/chasis with pull rod suspension. On top, they failed to install the suspension correctly during testing which cost them some valuable data gathering. So last season was pitwall, this season is factory.
