▀▄ eas | EAS Austin Yellow M4 gets the M Performance Parts Aero Treatment!

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
With the new BMW M-Performance lineup being released and how much it simply transforms the look once installed, I figured this deserved its own thread:

It was a big day today, as our BMW M-Performance Aero arrived ahead of schedule (originally slated for 9.13.14).

Instead of installing 1 or 2 pieces, we're going all in and installing everything on the long awaited the BMW M-Performance Aero.

Having seen, handled and installed a lot of aftermarket parts, this has to be some of the best quality and designed pieces we've seen. All parts fit perfectly with the M4's contours with no visible gaps, even for the most scrutinized types. Extra bonus on the M4 since there isn't a spoiler requiring removal like M3 (and previous models). As with the previous E9X M3 Performance line, all parts are 2x2 carbon weave, with exception of the lower lip and side blade attachments - quite possibly since they are in the impact zone close to the road.

Simply put, BMW did their homework and knocked it out of the ballpark with these pieces, raising the bar for aftermarket to measure up to.

Items installed

Preparation

Installation

Completed

The end result is simply fantastic, going from aggressive to downright menacing in the matter of a few hours. The carbon weave really pops against the Austin Yellow finish.

Full build can be seen in our journal here: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1020487

Afterthoughts: We might look into painting the lower lip Gloss Black and wrapping with clear film to make it match with the other exterior trim.

Otherwise, our M4 is really coming together nicely.

Speechless! I love that it maintains the OEM look while being more aggressive. Beautiful car!

Sweet baby Jesus!

Thanks for sharing your opinion of the parts. They do truly look like they are incredible quality.

Definitely going to put pressure on aftermarket suppliers.

I was really hoping the M Performance parts would make AY watchable but it didn't work.
Just kidding, not my favorite color but it does look a lot better live than in photos for sure.

Would have to agree with you on this particular color. Other colors, the mirrors may look better with.

Everyone that's been stopping by the shop says the same thing. Pictures can only do it so much justice.

Like everything but the front splitters. They look like they delete part of the bumper. Switch out the front splitters/lip for the Vorsteiner front lip. That would look perfect.

The splitters are required or a gap will be present if attempting to install the lower lip, as it was designed to work as a complete assembly. .

This doesn't say that a small rubber or foam gasket can't be made to work, but that will be up on the installer's end.
