What exactly is it? Seems kind of similar to an Ariel Atom with a smaller engine?

If you go on Jalopnik there's a great video of a guy racing in what looks like a Seven-spec race...putting gloves on...in the rain...while driving.

It's an MK Indy R. Similar idea to a caterham but this one is from a company called MK.

It has a full FIA approved roll cage built into the chassis, a bike engine (R1) and the sequential gearbox from the bike. Lotus fibre glass seats, wilwood brakes and various other performance parts.

Very light, zero driving aids, very quick (to 125/130 mph when it tops out) 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Harnesses rather than belts.

Just 8 months old. My new track toy although it is road legal too. Thats me done, all three garages full and the wife's 4x4 relegated to the driveway haha!

I hate the fact that you guys have these things readily accessible at a decent price. I guess you designed them. Have Fun.

That is nice, I see it is also road legal and it is also a kit that must be built from what I understand.

You seriously think it's cheaper in England and the work is easier?

You must be flipping joking. Property costs a fortune, way more than it does in the States. Petrol is extremely expensive, other fuels are as bad for heating home etc (something we have to do a lot of in Northern England Brrrrr) and I'm not even going to start on taxes such as murderous income tax and all the rest.

Add on a shit school system and a national health system ready to burst that's forced me into private schools for my sons and private health cover and trust me, it's bloody expensive.

How do we cope? Well, speaking for myself and the 70 people who work for me, we work very hard. The UK is a small Market, so it's very competitive in most businesses. The early bird gets the worm!

I nearly moved to the States/Canada in 2004 and that was led by the fact that I could buy triple the house I can buy here for less money.

From what I've seen mainland Europe is no better either.

Go on any British M3 forum and see how many sub 30 year old guys are driving new m3s compared to on here. I bet you don't find any they are so few and far between. 99.9% of people under 30 here ate currently trying to find a deposit to buy tiny houses for ÂĢ200,000!

What a load of rubbish, some Europeans might get paid more but we also get taxed a lot more, cars in the US are dirt cheap, so much cheaper than anything in Europe, we Europeans get really pissed at how cheap you get nice cars. Just for example a 316D in Norway costs as much as an M3 in the US, for the price of an M3 in Norway you could buy a F458 in the US and have change.

Yeah, what are you smokin'? My wife works in biotech as an engineer and her salary for an equivalent job in the same company went down a lot when we moved to Europe. Numbers wise (without currency conversion) she makes about 60% of what she did, and with dollar-to-euro conversion makes about 80% of what she did. And that is gross, if you take the net after taxes it is even worse.

Granted, there is about 3 weeks more vacation and slightly less stressful working environment... but still definitely don't get paid more. And normal cars are significantly more expensive, especially if you get into the higher HP models which they tax the shit out of.
