first of all when you're pulled over and the officer asks you for your DL and proof of insurance, YOU GIVE IT TO HIM!!!! Dont freaking just sit there and not comply. IMO the officer did not do anything wrong. Failing to comply with showing proof of insurance and DL will obviously make the officer think the worst of things. I mean who knows what they could be up to.

in my experience cops are never "just dicks" there is always a reason we are not aware of. i have personally never had a bad experience with cops. i've had experiences which i was not happy with but they were still fair. here remember this, you will get off with a warning 95% of the time, based on my own experiences:

officer: "do you know why i pulled you over?"
you: "yes officer, i was (driving above the speed limit, ran that red light, didn't stop at the stop sign). i am really sorry and it was an error in judgement on my part and i promise to be more careful and try to stay more aware next time."

the worst thing is to answer "no" to the above question. you know what you did... don't patronize the officer by saying you don't. treat the officer with the respect her deserves and act like an adult and he will afford you the same respect and benefit of the doubt.

The officer seemed somewhat harsh and was very impatient in this incident. I dont think the teaser was justified and to get arrested...for what? not handing his drivers license fast enough.

I agree the officer was a little harsh, but the guy needs to shut the hell up and comply, it's not that hard. He just keeps going, the whole thing would have been avoided if he just gave him his license instead of bitching about it.

Hell toward the end the officer should have hit him with it again.

Yes, We are all sheep that must be taught what to do. Grow some balls my friend. Your thinking is why our country is slowly slipping away from us. Freedom, last I checked was the foundation of America.

Really? Wow, you have not met many cops. Actually you have not met many people in general.

People everyday are dicks for no reason. Shit sometimes I am, so cops are not dicks for no reason!? haha joke right? Also admitting guilt? for speeding or any misc. driving infraction. Thats stupid.

I'll just discard everything you said.

Yea, lets blame the guy who hasnt been trained for shit like this, lets blame the guy who merely didnt give an item, lets just blame him. Why question the people that control us? The people who shouldnt have as much control as they do. Especially considering we pay for them.

Those defending the cop are cowards. Last I checked cops were trained to take down people. Now they are faggots who use a taser for no reason. 70 in a 65? WTF he was trying to get it and the cop goes ape shit.

Shoot id even pull the race card.

i didnt think anyone would actually defend his actions...he started yelling WHILE THE GUY WAS GETTING HIS LICENSE!

then the guys liek i dont know why he's yelling at me, then the officer opens the door, hits him with the door, tasers him, then tells him to lay down on the floor till back up comes..

you guys think thats justifiable?

I actually agree that the officer was too quick to jump on his high horses. However, the guy in the car was talking about some stuff. He could have just said "just one second here officer" and he probably would have waited. IMO both parties were at fault.

That was completely ridiculous. The driver wasn't perfect in the situation but the officer escalated the incident to a level that was unecessary. Also most officers would at least issue a verbal warning before directly tasing someone.

Using Taser is wrong and i am against Tasers, they are dangerous and can kill people. Despite the company saying how safe they are, they are not, everyone reacts to it differently. Police in the US depends too much on Tasers, whatever happen to actual hand combat lessons and beating it with a bat?

I think the cop was out of line.he created that situation.Granted the driver should have just shut the fuck up but his yelling and impatience was overboard.

I think they were both wrong. The guy in the car was wrong for not giving the officer the license and registration. Even the passenger was telling him to go ahead and give the officer what he asked for.

The officer didn't need to use a Taser for something as simple as not presenting the license and registration. But I'm sure if it came down to a jury, they will try to suggest that the driver made "threatening movements" while he was exiting the car.

I think the cop slammed the door against him to instigate that kind of excuse.Obviously someones going to move if struck by a car door. All of this could have been avoided if the smartass just gave the license and registration to the asshole cop without any lip.

I agree that the officer took it too far but that is a lesson learned to the public. When a cop asks you to do something it's always best to do just that (as long as it is within reason). After getting a ticket you will get your day in court.

I always keep my phone on record when I get pulled over so that if the officer isn't professional I have evidence.

exactly...never ever a smart move to be cocky to a cop...no matter how COOL you are.

I have to disagree with you guys, this is a clear example of a power hungry person getting upset when he is not immediately obeyed. You don't have to give him your license immediately, you don't even have to roll your window down if you don't feel like it until there is a second unit present, at which point you would be arrested. But the point it that officer obviously didn't like not being listened to, there was absolutly no reason to taser the guy.
