thanks man, i always thought they suit the car well. surprised to hear they’re not as common in the UK, it’s actually my only complaint about having 513Ms, there’s so many F30s that have them here that it almost becomes not as interesting to own them haha.

Nope; think they were more a N America thing than anywhere else.

They're c£2k UK Sterling if they crop up & that's used!

The 437Ms are a more popular choice over here, but they do poke a bit, more so on the F30s than the F31s

yep thats about what I paid for mine, they are forged and good looking wheels, so the pricing is actually somewhat fair compared to other forged good quality wheels from aftermarket companies. one of the reasons I looked for OEM vs aftermarket is also value retention. OEM wheels like 513m depreciate very slowly, and I bet I could get most of the money back that I have invested in them if I had to sell them tomorrow. Aftermarket wheels do depreciate at a much faster rate. and you're right, the only wheel I see more often on F30s than 513m, are the 437m.

Yeah; you do see the 437Ms a lot more over here; they're light too for 19s, forged as well IIRC

I stuck with OEM BMW 18" 405Ms for my main wheels for the summer; IIRC they're forged also as they're only 9kg a corner - you can really tell the difference between them and the 397s I'm running for winters currently (5kg a corner heavier), and you can really tell!

During welcome light portion when car is first unlocked, the lights are white. This mod was on back burner for a while for me, bought a euro fog light switch from UK, about 15GBP, to complete the look I also had a custom surround trim made with 2x2 oem style carbon weave to match my interior trim. Final results look great and OEM+:

I was very happy with the results of the custom CF piece so I decided to do the same for my radio trim, I figured a carbon weave would match better than gloss black which the OEM LCI radio trim is. Again very happy with the results, looks OEM+ to me. The climate control plug of death was quite a pain to [...]
Do you have a link for the footwell lights? Old post, I know. Just found your build thread. Been following your mods through the other threads this whole time.

heres a link for the ones I ordered: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805424839993.html (the orange/white 3 series version)

i think theres a seller on amazon that sells em called Jaronx, but I'm pretty sure he sells the blue version. I wanted the more OEM style ones.

winter prep this past weekend, i’ve mentioned in this thread before but I do not have access to a power washer or even properly washing my car with water. For the last 2 years I’ve been using AMMO froathe which is a solution for people like me to do a waterless wash, the downside is using a lot of towels.Due to this I’ve only been taking my car to the local detailer twice a year to get a proper wash in preparation of clay barring and coating the cars paint with sealant. Pictures below from the weekend:

Car is getting the rare spa treatment:

After a decon wash from the detail shop, I quickly bring it over to my garage and do a full synthetic clay bar of the whole body. Here she is after clay:

Below are pictures I’ve taken after various completion points of applying coating. Generally I’ll apply one coat and give the car 24 hours to cure, followed by 2nd coat, I try not to have the car see rain for 48 hours after applying coating. Love how deep the gloss is on the car, it becomes a lot darker I notice:

few mods I’ve done in last couple of months:

Euro Ash Tray Light retrofit:

Dry Carbon Fiber Door Handle Overlays

Rolls Performance Mid Chassis Brace

Really only have 1 other mod planned right now, until it’s time to do a complete suspension overhaul.
Where did you source the carbon fiber cup holder light piece?

Few small updates:

New Power Trunk Button:

This mod came from my buddy Runner340 , he bought the bimmertech power trunk same as me and was bothered by having a lock button that did nothing so he decided to replace it with an OEM single power trunk open/close button. Dimensions were identical and buttons are interchangeable. I decided to follow suit as well:

Safety Triangle retrofit:

Added the euro safety triangle, always figured it’s good to have for any side of the road repair work, especially since I don’t use RFTs anymore. Plus filling in the obvious outline void of the trunk liner is an added bonus. I have an emergency repair kit in the under trunk floor storage spot, so this seems like an obvious addition:

Coming along nicely. Do you have a part number for the trunk lining by any chance?

thanks, unfortunately BMW never made this part due to cost cutting. I bought mine from aliexpress, I didn’t mind since it felt and looked on par with OEM:

I bought the warning triangle for myself but didn't buy the screws for the mounting brackets thinking that I wouldn't need them. What was the part #s for the screws and the screw holders/retainers? I have the two brackets that hold the triangle but not the screws or the retainers that go into the trunk itself that the screws go into. According to RealOEM the part #s are 51717154520 and 07119904182. Did you get anything else?

i did end up buying the plastic expanding retainers and screws from BMW, but I know a buddy of mine did it with generic parts he already had laying around. Either way the part numbers are,

you’ll need two of each:

07119906876 - metal screws

51717154520 - expanding plastic rivet.

other than the 2 holders of the triangle, i personally didn’t get anything else, i believe there are also covers that go over the screw head to hide them. but i didn’t care for that since the triangle covers the screws either way.

Thanks, I also see that there are two rings that go inside the holes for the brackets where the screw passes through. Part number 51497425405. Not sure why it was made this way but if you really wanted to be complete those would be needed as well.
