Lightbulb Calling all doctors, nurses and mothers?

I recently cut my finger with an xacto knife while making a model for school.. long story short, my nail saved my finger but the blade still got a good piece of meat. I got two stitches and have had them for a little over a week (Doctor recommended 10 days, will be tomorrow). Now my big question is should I clip the stitches myself? The cut is healed and the stitches were pushed out (I can move the knot back and fourth and can feel/ see the stitches moving). I just don't have time to go to the hospital again and I have classes first thing in the morning...

OK, the thread is a little longer than what I intended it to be but please, some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sure - if healed and just 2 sutures in the end of a finger. Just make sure to not cut both ends that are under the skin - should be a circle that comes out under the skin, below the know and 2 "ears" above. You can just use that exacto knife

If you are sure that it's healed then go ahead. The important thing is to make sure no sutures are left when you cut them out. If it's not a running stitch then your going to cut each loop just once, if it's a running stitch your going to make one cut and pull out the suture. Hope it helps

No worries. Toss some hydrogen peroxide on and some anti bacterial creme afterwards. I have removed stitches, arm cast, leg cast and a few crazy women myself.

Then why ask how to take out the stitches if you're just going to let the hospital take them out ??

OK, that's an acceptable excuse. Next time don't procrastinate so much and you won't have to work all night to finish your projects.

Sad thing is, I'm not procrastinating (e90post is an exception ), I have projects due right after another, essays due right after projects and the cycle never ends... So restless right now..
