bmw key fob

Does anyone else here feel that bmw should have made a better looking key fob? I mean it looks ok and all, but almost a little cheap.

But it does make you feel all James Bond with the hidden valet "shank" key.

i like it..i think its very different from most cars. i guess if they made a metal one that would be cool and not "cheap". but then it might be heavy and feel weird in ones pocket.

Key fobs arent even needed. So to be expecting more from it is kind of even more un-necessary.

Also what exactly would they design? It's a key fob. I don't lknow maybe I am easily pleased. Because I thought my VW key was the shit.

Only fob I like as much/more than the Bimmer's is Audi's. Seriously though, it's just fine looking in my eyes.

Maybe it's just me, one of my buds has a Audi and a chick I know has a VW and their keys look cool. It was at a bar after a few drinks and it was also dark.

LOL! yeah forget about it man. you dont want to be stuck with this keyfob we have....

meh. really i like our keyfobs... they arent that bad. a bit thick, and the pull out key is massive (compared to the pull out keys in the MB's), but otherwise i like it. no complains here.

Anyone know where I can get a new key? BMW wants $200 to program/cut a new key and didn't know if this was a good/bad price?

OK You know what could be cool, Half-Dollar sized BMW Roundel fob with the different panels of the propeller as the function buttons.

Just smooth Aluminum with the Enameled roundel. Have a Carbon Fiber Version for the M series cars... Go ahead and make them pretty, and unique, nice to hold...

I like the key.
Yeah, the VW/Audi switch-blade is a bit cooler because it's fun to play around with while bored, but the BMW one beats a lot of the other keys out there.

The dealer's the only place to get a new key; that price sounds about right too.

I would have preferred a credit card size proximity card like we use at work for building access. That would be HAWT with comfort access!
