probly not, if I did any autix, hpde, or track days I would probly jump on this. but for my daily driver and occassionaly running through the gears, I think the oem eLSD should hold up fine. for that price tho, lol...

Dammit, the 6-spd LSD isn’t part of the deal. Guess I’ll keep my $600.

If your car has a 3.15 final, it will work, 328 or 335, AWD or RWD

They are clearing out excess inventory on the 3.15 ratios as those cars are long out of production.

Realoem does not list the LSD as working with the 328, but the original differential is the same part in the 335 and the 328 for the 3.15 final, which is the key.

That's because the F30F32 LCI still uses a 3.23 final for manuals

No. The LSD for the 328i would be different, assuming there is one? I don't see a BMW lsd for the 328, anywhere.
Sure it would if it has the same 3.15 rear end final.

See above.

If it was produced on or before 6/2016 non-LCI and has an automatic transmission with a 3.15 final it would.

All the F3x non-LCI Models used one of 4 differentials.

2.81 for the ActiveHybrid 3
3.15 for Automatics
3.23 for manuals
3.91 for some automatics

You guys really need to learn how to use realoem.

So I think for the LSD to work with my f31, I need some parts beyond just the pumpkin. RealOEM shows my car has different half shafts and dust guard rings so I'd need those as well to mate the LSD to the rest of my drivetrain. Still very tempting to do though. There's also still the xdrive bit. Haven't seen any clear info on how adding an LSD plays with xdrive.

Its in my signature. 16 f31 328ix. I think my driveshaft might also be a problem based on the 335ix diagram I've been looking at. Hard to tell though as the realoem diagrams for my driveline aren't as detailed as the 335ix one. It could also very well be my ability to dig through realoem though!

I'm scared of wasting 600$ if it doesnt fit for some reason my 328i. what about the half shafts? i read they are thicker on the 335i, but the mating surface might be the same going into the diff?

I don't believe Xdrive has an lsd option everyone. As I am aware the deal is for rwd 335i/435i auto only

Signature not shown in app

Realoem diagrams uses generic drawings so don't always use that as gospel. Actual part numbers and compatibility tell the tale.

Just because it's not offered for a 328 does not mean it will not work, as I've detailed above.

I apologize, it might work for more platforms like the 328i. Good luck!

If your F30 has a 3.15 final (not a 3.91, 3.23 or 2.81) and is on the list below, it will work, sliding right in to where part number 33107603748 or 33107603749 is now:

One more to add to that list, the 328i RWD 6MT has a 3.91 rear end.

No MPerformance LSD is offered with this final drive, unsurprisingly.

Actually I was adding that above while you were posting.

Again, the key is knowing what is on your current F30/F31/F32/F33/F36. If it's 3.15, it will work

If it's 2.81, 3.23 manual or a 3.91, this part will not.

That's the conclusion I came to as well but f31 isn't on that list but it seems promising that f30 in the same n20/xdrive config is. My stock diff has a different PN than the one from the f30 as well. I'm not sure if its due to mine being a 2016 which is LCI but not a b48 yet. I have a lot of the LCI changes but not all of them.

Your first mistake is you have an LCI, not a non-LCI.

I've been wondering about that for the last hour as you stated you had a non-LCI but a 2016. The F31 non-LCI stopped production in 6/2015.

By putting in your VIN, you have a 8H53 which is a USA F31 LCI.

Ah gotcha. Mine seems like a weird limbo because I still have the n20 and ID4 NBT Evo. But yeah, I guess mine is actually LCI but with a 3.15 final drive still. That's my bad!
