Herniated disc from dead lift, fack me...

Yesterday doing dead lifts, first two sets were fine, got really tired and on 3rd set, 4th rep, i must've relaxed and didn't focus on form and heard a pop in my lower back (tramp stamp area right above asshole) and that was that, dropped the weights and was in excruciating pain...could barely make the drive home..

Has anyone here experience something similar, how long did it take to heal? I'm in so much pain right now..

Seriously OP you need to go see a doctor or back specialist, and if you are in pain that makes standing or walking a real issue, get a ride to the hospital now. Due to too much golf (I know, first world problem), I had a disk start to slip a few years ago, which is outrageous seeing as how I’m not even 30…Anyways, it’s something that needs to be check out asap. Don’t let a serious lower back injury fester; they can cause tons of other issues with your balance, strength, etc etc. Sorry to hear about this...

3 weeks again i was cracking my neck then i heard a pop and i couldn't turn my head, i was in pain for a week straight and it sucked..but after 10 days it was better, that happened before, however this lower back pop was a first..wondering if it's one of those things that'll heal on its own or something i'll need surgery for

Nope not complaining, just sharing what happened to me and see if anyone else has something similar they can shed some light on...simply asking for answers not sympathy...

I had it happen to me when I was younger and my form sucked. It took a couple weeks for it to get better.

Dammit spool you gotta keep that proper form up! For what it's worth, if you're in serious pain and are considering surgery at any point in the future, check out Laser Spine Institute. It's expensive unless you have good insurance though.

If it's not seriously injured then just give it a couple of months and avoid any exercise that strains you core and back.

I had hoped you would have edited from a moral standpoint... If not that, at least a common decency standpoint.

I have never done that but I know a few guys that have. Just get to the doctor ASAP before you do anymore damage.

Did a doctor verify its a herniated disk? I injured by back with a poor form squat and it was good as new in 2 weeks. You may have just pulled a muscle. Hopefully that is the case because if you did herniate a disk you can kiss deadlifts bye bye for a long time.

Didn't see a doctor, but from wikipedia page and google search, most of the time if you hear a pop while dead lifting, you tore something in your lower back...im hoping it's just a mild case and i'll be fine in a couple weeks...
