What would you do..
Here's my scenario..
A "friend" of mine decided to buy my set of TE37 with Dunlop tires. All in Good Condition (not mint) good.. He knows that I got it for cheap because when I purchased it, the guy selling was in a hurry of selling due to some personal reasons. Therefore, the price I got it for was almost unheard of. However, my "friend" had lend me 200$ for getting the wheels redone and all. I paid him back in 1 week (transaction time). So when I was going to jump on CE28s I was looking to sell my TEs. He immediately wanted to jump on them. Originally he wanted them for whatever price I say. Then I figured since he did me a favor I'll sell him my suspension mods with it. With that said, I sold him the wheels plus suspension mod for $$$. But he doesn't have all the money, so he needs to pay by month. I figured what the hell, he's my friend I know his girlfriend too so whatever. He pays straight on-time for two months. I got half of the $$$. Then the next month rolls around and he says he can't pay yet, has to wait until next month. THIS GOES ON FOR AT LEAST 5 months. He ignores me, doesn't pay, says he has no money. UNTIL TODAY he has not yet paid a penny. FUNNIEST THING, he tells me to lower the price (i thought we agreed?).

Now my question to you.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO (what should I do)?

ask for your suspension mods back.. and sell them to someone else...

Take the wheels back and sell them to someone else. Keep whatever money he's given you too...

Do the math. If what he paid covers the suspension, then take the wheels back then log him under your "don't give a f*ck about them" friend category. His character already shows that he'll be more of a negative than a positive for you in the long run. Not sure how old you are, but throughout my 20's, I went through and filtered out all the "friends" that seemed to hold me back, and kept the ones that helped me grow. It's like shooting pool....you only get better when you play with people that are better than you.

I agree. Either sue him, or get the wheels back and recoup some of your loses there.

He obviously isn't your "real" friend if he's doing this to you.

Figure out if you had the shit back in the condition it is in NOW, how much you would be able to sell it for. Subtract the number of hours times how much an hour is worth to you that it would take to get the shit back and re-sell it. Compare that to how much lower of a price you could offer him. Go with whatever is higher.

Present Value - (Hours x Hourly Wage) = Lower Price

Haha, I would ask for the wheels back and if he didn't comply I would warn him that I was going to take action and then call the cops and report a theft of the wheels with a description of his car.

More of a round about approach but you don't have a chance to get caught for something illegal (stealing them back) and he gets his punishment.

take what he has that adds up to the amount he owes you still. make sure it's something you can sell later on. Let him know if you don't pay me within a certain amount of time, i'm selling it on craigslist and we'll be even. Simple and effective.

this guys is piteous... he damaged the wheels and started saying that I sold it to him that way, BECAUSE HE WANTS TO LOWER THE PRICE.
he bent 2 of the wheels and still didn't fix, drove like a bitch, now he has no tread left, been like about 7 months and he says the tread life was done by me... LOL WOW!!

We live we learn... This guy doesnt sound like a friend anymore.. I just lost one the other day over $41 and it was the all about principle not money. They still didnt get it after a short 20 minute talk I could tell they learned nothing.

Like someone else said filter out these people they will only hold you back in life.. And its sad now days how finances impact a lot of friendships, it seems like a lot of people who earn less than you feel that they are entitled to free stuff since you make more.
