Scared - ordered my 325xiT - saw a 3xx in the shop
Just as I finished my order for my 325xiT I saw a guy in the service area waiting room. He hd his 330 in for repair and a rep from BMW Factory had been flown out to oversee his case.
The owner was a bonehead, but basically he said he had many electrical engine/ECU problems and he'd never buy a BMW again. For 2 months he'd been in the shop repeatedly and he wasn't in the mood to discuss it with me - but from the jist of our conversation his car had nearly left him stranded on several occasions. Anyone care to comment. I'm not terribly worried, but it is food for thought on many a sleepless night

Maybe one of those few lemons that might have skipped inspection.....
You should post this in the regular forum......just a thought for you!

any make and model car there is gonna be one or two lemons in the bunch. i wouldnt really too much, unless you wanna never buy any type of car in your whole life. at least you are buying a brand new car with a great warranty etc. dont worry. if that guy really had that many problems, he really should lemon law it, and get a brand new one.

you'll hear that kind of horror story if you hang around any dealer's service desk -- I remember once I was at an acura dealer and this woman was going on and on about the problems she was having with her A/C. but it was clear she was letting leaves get sucked in.
And an BMW rep was really flown in to oversee his case? Well, did you ever hear of Chevy doing this? |

I had 3 Isuzu Troopers - heard they flipped over - mine never did. Had a VW Jetta and heard terrible problems with windows, etc. - mine never did. Had a Passat and heard horror stories about electronics and coil packs - mine never did... point being (to restate) that every make and model will have a few lemons, and even common problems. Doesn't mean yours will. If it does, that's where service kicks in. I'd rather be in the hands of BMW for service than most other brands if I have trouble.
