The X6 is sellin AMAZING here in the US and in other countries so can you blame them for wanting to make more money? The X6 in Russia is well over 200,000 and the cant build them fast enough. I agree that this new v series wont be for me but hopefully we can get more technology out there to try out so it is availbale in the next gen 3 series. Its a little annoying but the are in business to make money and not to make us happy by not producing certain vehicles.

Very soon BMW AG will begin their teasers for the upcoming Progressive Activity Sedan , this is what 2009 will be about. Everything else is considered secondary.

For BMW the Progressive Activity Sedan is a new automotive solution in the luxury segment. The Progressive Activity Sedan will not compromise on it's Inherited BMW DNA which means Dynamics,Performance , refinement and Efficiency will be what you expect from a car badged as a BMW clothed in a futuristic sleek body and an intuitive forward thinking interior.

What is the word car? And why does it fit with Progressive Activity Sedan? Should it not be MPV?

No. Call it what you want , you and many others have probably have already made up your mind on this individual BMW Concept.
The media and BMW traditionalists have got it wrong over this car thay are labeling it as a competitor to the Mercedes-Benz R-Klasse.
How wrong they are.

What will the Progressive Activity Sedan offer over a regular MPV or SUV?
Individuality and function partnered with a very exciting range of petrol and diesel engines and optional efficient platforms. Individual dynamics and agility will make this a vehicle that does more than stand out because of it's design. In which it is very design orientated , crisp sharp lines , shallow glasshouse , very aerodynamic swooping roof in the form of a coupe , long bonnet more like a car.

What is the point of the Progressive Activity Sedan?
The Progressive Activity Sedan is an individual solution for the progressive individual who has become bored of a regular sedan and SUV but with no compromise on driver enjoyment.

The fact that you have only seen two in a major metro makes the whole point on the X6......niche market and exclusivity. The point was never to see 20 million X6's like you see 20 million 3 Series at every traffic light.YTD thru Aug 08 BMW has sold 24,375 X6's, BMW numbers.Full production did not really crank up until Feb or Mar of 08.All X6's are presold before they are built.Try and find an X6 on the Dealers lot...none.There might be insolated cases of a few X6's sitting around, but most are presold or sold the day they hit the dealership.Based on the Aug 08 YTD numbers...the X6 is tracking to sell 36,000 or so cars in it's first year of production.BMW projected 30k to 40k X6 sales upon the announcement of the X6.Right on the money.BMW is building 200 X6's per/day right now...max production for the car based on the way the car moves down the production line.BMW feels sales will tail off to about 25,000 cars annually...not bad given the economy and $4 gas.Thanks.
