Hi guys, I'm helping to organize a raffle on a Nintendo Wii that will benefit the United Way (www.liveunited.org). We did an event at my company and was a huge success so I like to extend it to the BMW community. This will make an awesome gift for Christmas. These sold for more than $300 on eBay still, if you're lucky you win the Wii with just $1.

If this turn out to be a success I can work with my coordinator to do t-shirts with the United Way logo for the winner. Maybe also work with bimmerpost to do some dual logos for e90post members, and hopefully a donation to help fund the website to further expand the BMW community.

$1 will get you 1 ticket
$5 will get you 8 tickets
$10 will grab you 20 tickets. (better odds of winning)

Tickets sold for raffle will end on Sunday the 26th at 6PM Eastern Standard Time. The winner will be announced on Monday the 27th at 9AM and the system will be shipped out the same day.

It looks like there isn't enought people interested in winning the Wii or helping United Way so my coordinator is closing this raffle event.

This failed because you depend on blind faith, no one will trust their money with you just because you said its for united way and promise to be legit (not saying your not or the cause is not great)

just a suggestion, since you didn't announce how the winner will be chosen, people will assume you just pick them out of a hat.
The problem is nobody knows if your really doing it legit and not give it to your friend here that you know and split the money.

We use to do a lot of raffles on sportbikes.net and to do an online raffle the right way, you need to have a max of 100 tickets for say 5 dollars a ticket. After people send you money on paypal. you will post their sn on this thread under number between 00-99 in the order that they come in (no picking their own numbers). You will then let people know IN ADVANCE that the winner will be determined by state run public lottery (the last 2 numbers of the daily 3) on a certain date.

ex- if the daily 3 winning numbers on the date you chosen in advence is 4 8 2. Number 82 will win the price. 6 0 9 number 9 will win the price

A lot of times the organizer will say the first number will get their money back. so in 4 8 2 number 4 will get his 5 dollars back. Having it this way, will encourage people to get in the raffle early and getting it started as the first 10 to get in will also have 1 out 10 chances of getting his money back if he don't win the price. Once names start to get on the list, more and more people will get in.

This way, everyone knows what number they are and the winning number is public information, no way anyone can cheat.
