Arrow How to recover files from an SD card?

So I have a couple micro SD cards that I kept in my wallet when I was younger, and it looks like they broke.

Whenever I put it on the comp it says "no SD card found." One has a hairline crack going down the middle, and the other may have broken too.

Was wondering if I could recover the files/pics in any way.

If they were recognizable and you accidentally erased stuff, then yeah. If nothing recognizes them, then

Nothing is impossible. Get a software called stellar recovery. It will scan the sectors of the drive and my be able to retrieve all the data. Important to not over write the sectors on the sd card by taking additional photos.

This is all continent on getting the pc to see the drive. Buy a cheap card reader crack the plastic and make sure all the connectors are touching. Good luck

Try using a software called Recuva. Its worked great for me in the past. Also, if you're using MS Windows and don't see the drive at all, try creating a bootale Ubuntu usb and see if you can see the files on the sd card that way.

Give it up they are loss cause, if you have crack cross them and they are not even recognized that means they are broken, you probably crack the actual memory chips inside the card itself

Here is what the insides look like, if you bent it enough to crack the outside most like the chips in side are crack as well

There is only one company in the world I trust for data recovery. If you really want the data, don't mess with it or use any recovery software.

The best company: Ontrack Data Recovery.

Send them your data---hand deliver it if it's really valuable.

If they can't do it, no one can. These nuts recovered data from the space shuttle flight data recorders when it was nothing but a charred ruin.

Hi, for the SD card can't be recognized problem, you can refer this article: How to Fix “USB Device Not Recognized” Error If you need to recover lost data from this card, you can use Remo Recover, you can find it in the page Recover Photo from Nikon Digital Cameras

Thanks, i love feeling old. When i was younger and SD card in my wallet could have only meant a Silver Discovery credit card.

Op, based on your pictures it is safe to say the chips inside the card are cracked and will not function at this point. There is nothing you can do about that.

This method applies to the PC having issues, ie something is not configured correctly or got corrupted. It will not help if there is an issue with the actually USB or SD card.

You did not tell him how that would cost. I did a HDD one time and had the manufacturer do it since they are most knowledgeable on drive recovery my driver was not damaged and it cost $1200, it was worth it since it was years of data and the backup was corrupted as well.

Not that the SD card could not be recovered but once the chips are broken it becomes very hard depending how they are broken. The other issue with and SD card is the fact NAND Flash does not hold its data for long period of time. Most Flash is not recoverable if more than a yr old and has not been powered up.

moral: if it's that important, multiple copies (hard and online) are the best way to go. and if you really want to wipe data out... burn it. when i was a kid all it took was a magnet, i guess things have changed lol

After seeing the pics BMWrules7's advice is the best, but it will cost thousands.
