computer controled front end
Can anyone tell me if the steering is controlled by software. My car has been plagued with the dreeded front end shimmy. The only fix BMW has come up with is to try a software update.
Anyone who can shed light on the situation would be much appreciated. They are telling me there is an electric motor that dampens the road feel, it needs to be reprogramed. What do you guys think BS. Thanks |

Welcome. You shoud do a search on front end shimmy. There have been several long threads. I had it, and had my wheels rebalanced (at the dealer for free) and it took care of it. It should be noted though, that the tires do seem to be suceptable to flattening a bit when the car sits for awhile. A couple of miles of driving works those out though.
