WTB: 2008-'11 under $26k OR 2012-'13 ~$40k
Ok, weird prices I know, but my stupid bank thinks 2008 is OOOLD for a car so these are the limits I'm working with..
Basically, looking for: 6MT Sunroof EDC Color: ideally red or blue All it has to do is either be an 08-11 under $26k or '12-'13 for under/around $40k. There's gotta be one in these here United States.. Been looking HARD. Would really appreciate the help Last edited by Rockfresh15; 03-29-2021 at 09:29 PM.. |

Keep it simple. Buy the most car with least money and enjoy it every day. It’s a base 3-series at the bones. I’ve experienced many cars with some mechanical/body imperfections and all came out okay. The only time I’ve paid a premium is for dream car that I’ll only drive weekend and never sell.

Good luck, OP! I just went through the very same thing. But I WAS looking for the dream car to drive on weekends, and there were very, very few clean, low mileage, unmolested examples for under $40k+. Really comes down to what you want to do with it, since there are plenty of cars in the $26k area with higher (60-100k) miles. If you want a daily you will have no problem finding them. But the cream puff garage queen, regardless of year, will be nowhere near that range, and better get ready to move quickly when you do find what you want because I can guarantee you will not be the only one looking! I lost out on 2 candidates because I did not move quick enough. Wishing you much luck! |

Haven't received anything.

Basically, it'll stay at my parents house (after I spend the summer driving it and potentially modifying some things--the perks to moving home for a year in a pandemic) and then it'll be a garage queen until I come back to visit, and perhaps mod it further. I'll do this until I'm rich enough to afford a two-car garage house basically, hah. So, it won't ever be a daily, so I'm not super concerned with mileage. I have cash on hand but would prefer to take a loan so I can have this cash on-hand after I've moved. The real issue is that my bank sees a 2008 M3 as worth around $14,000 and will only offer that much, with a shorter term, since it's over 9 years old..so, for the same monthly payment (and a longer term of course), I could get a $40k M3, as long as it's 2012-2013. I'd pay longer/more but have a lower mileage, likely cleaner example, which I'm also open to. Honestly, I don't have much of a preference for either, but probably the cheaper of the two options makes the most sense to me, but again, would go for either if it's the right spec. Ok, now someone magically materialize my dream red e92 M3 6mt with sunroof please : ) |

If it has anything close to “project” attributed to it, buy the cheapest example. Don’t care about accident history/ blemishes. Focus on initial payout, you’ll pour money thereafter anyway.
