You should order a credit freeze, also call one of the three credit monitoring companies and ask them to monitor for fraud. Like stop posting on bimmerpost and get to it quickly. Isn't this common knowledge?

File a police report. Then post a need a hitman in the wanted sections on craigslist.

How did the retailer know how to contact you? Had you bought stuff there before? Did they have your CC info saved? I know places like Amazon retain your CC info, so if someone figures out your login and password, they can buy what they want and ship it anywhere. If that's the case, change your password to the retailer's site as well or they'll just have access with your new CC info.

A lot of time they will use fake phone numbers that don't work or just real ones of the billing address (I guess if they have it available). They are beting on the retailer never calling and just shipping out the order.

Lol no. They were both American girls I talked to. Erased the charges and put passcode on my accounts and changed the sim. My bill is only $82 a month. I about fainted when I saw that balance due lol apparently someone or something was making international calls every single minute for hours straight. I have a 15 page bill with all the foreign numbers.

A month ago, I got a call on my cell phone and some guy was telling me I got a package I need to arrange for. I barely understood him. He sounded African, like Somalian or something. He then tells me I won $20,000 dollars and I need to arrange to get it. I told him I don't undertsand him, I didn't enter anything that would result in me winning money and I was hanging up. Who knows, maybe I really did win $20k. That would have covered all my plans for modding my car.

2 weeks ago, someone started trying to use my ebay acount to order stuff. ebay stopped them and cancelled everything. At that point, I went through and change the password on everything. Paypal, ebay, amazon, bank and email. Think I will also try to remember all stores I have used that isn't obscure and change those passwords too now.

The Infamous Nigerian scam. But this is the first time i've heard about them actually calling.

i guess that i got "lucky". it could've gotten worse and i would've not known it. these people were smart but was slow, and that helped me. they was spamming my email with almost 20 emails/per minute (yes, per minute) for 2 hours straight until i was able to block them. each email was from a different email address and that made blocking them was impossible. luckily, i noticed the subject line was all the same and was able to block base on that. i believe that they were trying to suppress all alert emails from retailers and banks. again, i was lucky that i saw 2 emails from a retailer and a bank to verify my purchase.

with that said, be warned. if you ever notice your email is getting spam hard, i strongly advise that you block them fast and look for email alerts from retailers and/or banks. chances are your identity has been stolen and they are using your CCs/accounts.
