GO IRISH!!

Well I've been waiting for this day since I was a kid. I grew up just down the street from Notre Dame and seeing the Irish in the big game has my stomach doing flips. I can't explain just how happy I am too see them have such a great year and it would really be special to see them pull of a big win against Alabama. Time to wake up the echos! Go Irish!

Being a die hard South Carolina fan, considering the last time we played Bama, we won.... I will be rooting for the SEC tonight to keep the title in house for another year. Will be nice to see another SEC team become a Dynasty.

Another hater! Going to finish 6-3 for Bowl games this year, with another national title? 7 in a row?

Overrated is a fighting word.

What ND was able to do with that brutal schedule was amazing, they deserve to play I'm this game. Alabama is an SEC powerhouse which is always considered a favorite to win it all. Overall I don't really care who wins, I just wanna see a good game....something that hasn't happened the past two years. Go Irish and Roll tide!

You don't think the Oregon and Auburn Champ was a good game?

Forget those two blown calls (well the punt was explained so can't really call that blown), Alabama is just running this game right now. Notre Dame just happy to finally make it to a BCS game...

The pitiful ND defense is making AJ McCarron look like Andrew Luck.

The Bama game plan is easy. Run, short pass, run, repeat. ND knows what the play is, but can't stop them. There's not big plays, no mis-directions, no trick plays, ND is just getting the ball shoved down their throats and they're taking it.

SEC overrated is just laughable, there's no debate SEC is the best conference this year. You're just lying to youself.

the national championship is where to hang your hat for an SEC fan. Overall the rest of the SEC outside of the top 2 teams are about on par with the top of the other conferences. I wouldn't say Georgia was that much better than Nebraska, or S. Carolina was that much stronger than Michigan. SEC certainly did not dominate these games, they were all 4th quarter games, and you'll be lying to yourself if you thought those games were easy games to put your money on. UF losing to Louisville and LSU losing to Clemson shows that SEC is not top heavy at all. Overall a 5-3 in bowl games with teams with winning records...2 of them blow outs doesn't show me dominance.

Now the NCG, that's a different story. Bama is just leaps and bounds better than ND, and I would bet Texas AM would have done the same to ND, just in a different way. But would Bama have done the same to Ohio State or another team? I wouldn't say so. It's all about the match ups.

The preseason top 5 next year should start

1. Bama
2. Texas AM
3. Ohio State
4. Oregon
5. Louisville

Georgia was some decent clock management away from beating Bama. Florida was just as close to beating Georgia and being undefeated, but gets worked by a Louisville team that was part of a 4 way tie for the Big East title. The same LSU team that beat South Carolina, and also nearly knocked off Bama, lost to a Clemson team that was solidly beat by the aforementioned Carolina. Hell, ND was a questionable goal line call away against Stanford from being 10-1 and out of the N.C. game. But the same Stanford team that lost to ND beat Oregon to keep them out of the championship game.

I think the parity is there, talent wise, it's just a matter of the SEC teams keep finding ways to win. One thing I have noticed is that no SEC team schedules a hard out of conference game in the middle of the season. They are either the first game of the season, the rivalry games the last game of the season after they play a cupcake the week before, or a bowl game. This gives them an advantage of having a couple of weeks preparation for the big out of conference games. Now with the exception of maybe the rivalry games, the opponents also have that same preparation, so maybe the SEC teams are just better coached and prepared. The SEC is also top heavy. Vandy, Kentucky, Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, Missouri and even Miss State to an extent all were pretty bad this year. That leaves the teams at the top to duke it out with each other. The perception of the SECs dominance, earned or not, makes it so that when one of these top teams beats another they barely fall in the polls.

But plain and simple, ND didn't show up tonight.

Parity, plain and simple. I recently met a bama fan who thought the good times would just keep on rolling. Be careful, college football is cyclical.

Based on their current roster, I'd say they have at least 2 more years. McCarron, Yeldon and Cooper will be there next year so if they could get decent replacements for Jones and Warmack, they should be able to continue running that offense. Defense should remain the same with all that depth but losing Dee Milliner would be a small blow.

Partially. You can't discount ND completely at this point, they made it all the way, and I'm sorry, but there is NO way Louisville starts in the Top 5.

My thoughts (pending further recruitment classes)

1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. Ohio State
4. Notre Dame
5. Texas A&M
6. Stanford
7. South Carolina
8. Georgia
9. Louisville
10. Florida

Lol ND shouldn't even be in the top ten next year after that performance. They looked like a Triple A high school team compared to Bama...

And this guy above me thinks they are better than Texas A&M? Get real, lol...
