So Sebastian Vettel will soon be a 4 time F1 champ.

This is pretty amazing. The first title I was like ok. Second, I was like sure. Third, fine.

But four titles? This is legend stuff here. If he doesn't win a title ever again his title will always be 4 times world champion. Hats off to Vettel. Amazing!

I'm not a Vettel or any team fan. I just watch the races and admire the solutions to problems and the tech.

But the booing is BS. Really though. Don't hate the guy because he wins.

Its getting a little boring now. I can't wait until they start using the turbo engines, also it would be great it they had refueling again.

What we really need is mid season testing.

Refueling would be fun. Imagine mixing in a fueling strategy with these crazy tires.

Not a Vettel fan, I actually hate him. But will recognize what he's done and accomplished.

Still waiting for someone to get a competitive car on the same level and give him a run for his money.

Not nearly as boring as the Schumi/Ferrari days. He absolutely annihilated the competition at his peak.

Montoya might disagree a little. Kimi in the black West backed McLaren as well.

When Schumi/Ferrari were peaking they were untouchable.

2002 (17 races) Schumi - 11 wins, 5 seconds, 1 third

"It's not fair, make them get out the way." Or something like that in Japan.

Did not make me more of a fan. Not that I was one before. But sheesh, whining like a small child? Good grief.

If u were racing with the likes of MW & RG on your tail, and back-markers were holding YOU up... You'd bitch too.

Any half-decent driver concerned about the race would feel likewise. Maybe he should have put the request on a white doily and sent it in?

To be fair... Adrian Newey, the RBR team and VET have achieved an amazing result in what is an imminent 4 WDCs & 4 WCCs. Not taking anything away from Vettel's ability (very very consistent driver) but put him in a Caterham and I don't think he'd be winning (at all).

Winning is winning.
If you ain't first, you are last.
You have to be in it to win it.
To finish first, first you have to finish.

"All these nice people saying I'm going to be world champion won't make me any faster, you have to believe it yourself. "

Actually, if you think about it, the 4 titles can be split into 2 categories:
total dominance - 2011, 2013;
fight to the finish - 2010, 2012.
So although it's working out to be 4 in a row, it's not a runaway overall.

But yeah, Vettel definitely moved to the right team at the right time!

Let's be honest here, haven't you heard this same exact radio chatter from Alonso and Hamilton? I can't think of a whinier driver than Hamilton. If he's not saying something negative or whining, his radio must be out.

I've heard friends talk like this as well. What exactly do you hate about Vettel? He's a nice young kid working with a great team and achieving great results. He's also a fierce competitor - if he's capable of taking first place from his teammate, he does it. At the end of the day, he's a racing driver. You don't see him ramming competitors off the road or punching people in the paddock, so really, what is it that you hate about Vettel?

Like him or hate him there's a lot of hard work, talent and discipline that go into becoming World Champion indepedent of team and car. Vettel is one of the great no doubt.

That said, I don't like it when Vettel wins. I'm not even sure why. The guy just isn't very likeable from a distance and it all seems too easy. Maybe if we get a season with more rain and he dominates the wet in Schumi and Senna style he can gain some more respect and love, I don't know. He'll never be loved and respected as Senna that I know, maybe Schumi level but he was more love or hate as a person not boring, whiny etc even if his races often were a snooze affair.

I look forward to the next season. Big change in cars and potential for huge progress in FI technology that can spill over to today's road cars. Time for BMW to re-enter F1?
