AC or Electrical Fan

ok guys, i dont think this has ever been discussed before

what is cheaper for the utility bill?

running on AC a few hours of the day or running 3-4 electrical fans for 10 hours of the day

to give you a size of the area, its 3200 sq ft, so far i heard gas is actually cheaper, any suggestions?

cuz everyone knows, its f**king hot right now

fan will be cheaper by a factor of 10.

I am not aware of any cooling systems that run on gas.

Gas can be cheaper for heating.. But never heard about it for A/C...

You live in CA... right now its 111F outside.. When it goes down to 95-100 at night I dont even need to use my cars A/C I think its cool outside.. And when I go to CA I freeze when its 70-85 outside.

It's 79F outside and I'm complaining about the humidity.

A lot of it depends on what the temperature is of the air that the fans would be moving. If you want to move 90°/90% RH air about your house with a fan it isn't going to be comfortable and would pretty much be a waste of energy. The AC would cost more but the results would be much better, especially since the RH reduction provided by the AC would be felt more than the reduction in the temperature.

What's the difference between a dehumidifier and an air conditioner? They both work on the exact same principle: blow warm, moist air across a cold coil thus condensing the moisture onto the coil and blowing the cooler, drier air back into the room.
