328i PE? Or Cat/ Muffler Delete? Or Diffierent Option?

So I currently have a PE exhaust on my 328i, but I want to go louder, I've been doing research watching videos on YouTube with people that do cat deletes or muffler deletes or even both. But I feel videos don't do the justice, just doesn't sound that good in my opinion. So I wanted to ask you guys, what would you recommend, staying with just the PE exhaust, or do you think I can do some modifications on the PE? Or muffler delete or what? Or even another option! Let me in on your input!

I also have a PE and have the aFe race pipes as well that delete the secondary cats. I love the sound, its definitely louder than just the PE alone. A lot more pops and gurgles from the exhaust too

I personally don't like muffler delete just because you lose low end torque (minimal) but with RWD cars I try to get as muh torque as I can, the drone is too loud and annoying (if you can stand the drone than go for it). I personally never tried this, but if you're looking for a cheaper solution try deleting cat's and resonators. (No idea how it'll sound, maybe someone who actually tried this can chime in)

PS. my buddy has a 98 civic with muffler delete, I can't stand to be in the same car as him lol. But than again it is a civic.

I just posted above you how much better it sounds and how it gets louder when you add the afe pipes (they delete the secondary cats).

The BMW PE already deletes the resonator...

The muffler delete is probably too loud imo

Muffler delete on my friends 2007 E92 328xi sounds brilliant, we did it a few months ago at a muffler shop for $70 including the y-pipe they had to make to keep the dual tips. Sounds glorious, and burbles/pops when you let off the gas at most RPM. With the possible exception of higher RPMs, which sound a *little* whispy but nothing too bad in my opinion, I would recommend it. And a whole lot cheaper than the PE exhaust.

It is NOT too loud either, very sedate and a little deeper at idle and cruising, and decently loud at WOT but nothing like my E550 lol. Also, I disagree on the low end torque being lost with the muffler delete. It's far enough back in the exhaust system I would venture to say it contributes very little to scavenging which is the primary consideration for generating low end torque (backpressure is a myth the way most people think about it).

Just my .2

Meeeeh my 6th exhaust set up isn't too bad, just delete everything except the primaries. You'll want more loud eventually and this is my 100 mile a day DD, family car. Ask me if the drone bothers me? Noooooo, it's not annoying drone anyway.
This is just on D.

328i yeah. Only thing on there are the primaries. Nothing to it for a quad set up, just find a good exhaust shop thats good in their craft and its easy for them.

I've done a cat and muffler delete. Put in straight pipes to glasspacks. This is how it sounds...

You will lose low end torque and potentially lower overall horsepower doing straight pipes

In all honesty since my 6th exhaust set ups, from going 2.5 in midpipe to 3 in and back and forth, single outlet, double outlet, quad set up, 2ndary cat delete. The car always adapts to your set up. After so many miles you barely notice lose in low end torque. We keep talking about losing end torque, our automatic NA 325/28/30 will not pick up the way we like or expect. Just make the car look and sound nice. If torque is really an issue, buy bms powerbox, tune, or drive in DS. Just enjoy modding.
