Need serious help with PEN. (under $50)

So I realized my father's birthday was yesterday. He is in korea, and I completely forgot about it. Im so bummed. I know he is too. I was so pissed off and disappointed in myself that I forgot, I broke my printer. Now im even more pissed.

Since me and my dad is far away from each other, we agreed on this "no-present, but phone call" thing for our birthdays. Its been nearly 7 years since the last time I bought him a birthday present, but I don't think I can ask him for forgiveness for what I've done this time.

I bought a nice belt for him on Saks Fifth Avenue. but I want to send him something that he will use everyday. I thought of a list.. and PEN!!!!!!!!! Since I already bought him an expensive belt, I want to buy a pen that is not too expensive.

Can you guys recommand me a nice pen around $50 that company owner can use? Something that looks classy enough that a chairman can use. You would think that company's executive owner would use something much better than $50, but knowing how money-saving guy my father is, I know he still uses one of those buy-one-get-one-free pens.

PLEASE HELP! I don't know anything about pens.

Yeah cheap pen...well...you could always hack your Pilot G-2 so it can accept Mont Blanc refills....like I do.

Note to self: Man...you know you have modding problems when you are modding pens.

But seriously...as a gift for $50...you're not going to get much nicer than a Parker...or maybe a cheaper version of a Waterman fountain pen sold at Staples. Probably not incredibily impressive...altho maybe he will like it as an upgrade over the free pens.

Get a fountain pen. Waterman at Staples is about $50, although some look kind of obnoxious.

This one's nice I guess –

I've used this all my life –

Graf Von Faber Castell.

Anything from Faber Castell is totally excellent. I grew up using Faber Castell 9000 pencils. Truly excellent German engineering and quality for a pencil and their pens use extremely exclusive materials. In 2006, they released a pen that is decorated with Wooly Mammoth tusks.
