Rosetta's Spacecraft Successfully Lands On Comet
You probably already read this in the news yesterday afternoon or today. At that time, we (meaning: the scientists) had to wait to see if the craft successfully landed on the surface of the comet. It was harrowing though, it bounced twice and some of the anchoring harpoons didn't bore in to the rock as they were designed to do.
Here is the first image confirming that it did, in fact, land successfully: The comet is named 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. It took 10 years, 3 Slingshots and 6.4 billion miles to gather enough speed to rendezvous with the comet this fall. |

I think it's fake, just like the moon landing. Sheeple will believe anything

I hope the extra mass of the lander doesn't alter the path of the asteroid in a bad way. I'm sure someone looked into that already though.
Imagine waiting ten years to see if your idea works. Personally I'm into instant gratification. Next day delivery from Amazon and all that. Ten years...ye gads.

Well, the batteries went flat and the lander shut down. It was fun while it lasted

Might come back up in the spring when the sun hits it again. That'd be cool.
