Anyone else watching? I'm a fan of any non-Twilight vampire fare.

Thumbs up

Yep. Was thinking of starting a thread.

Gueirellmo Del Torro is a filmmaking genius!

This show has sooooo much potential but is creeping along at a snails pace. I love the cast diversify and the multi faceted nature of this entity and storyline. Great horror and effects!
The Latina female CDC chick is being stupid and her mom is dragging her and the show down even more. Buy now with what we have already seen, the city should be in full crisis mode! I like the character playing the pest inspector role and hope he pairs up with grandpa sword soon....

Agreed on the pace, but the characters have developed enough to keep me coming back each week.

SFX have been great as well, I liked the make up process for the German vamp getting ready to go out in public.

Very slow indeed. I was hoping the Vampire in the alley would have killed the 2 gangsters like he killed the FBI agents. Do you think they're gonna get that far as to have the city being taken over by Vampires? Because that's what I'm waiting for.

I am enjoying it so far. Good take on all the perspectives of an outbreak, except this one being so coordinated with social media blackouts. I like the show. I also really like Tyrant!

Anyone see Soderbergh’s new series The Knick starring Clive Owen, on Cinemax. I am definitely subscribed.

I think the eclipse was meant to spread the infected into public enough to take over. And yes, I think Manhattan will be vampire island within the next few episodes.

Count me in on this show; I can't really explain why I'm enjoying it so much, but I am. I agree the pace has been deliberate, but I like that because the build up is much sweeter. I think there needs to be much more explanation of the motive of the head vamp who came over on the plane (in the large coffin/crate); there has to be more than just turning everyone into vamps - what would be the fun in that?

Del Torro has a wonderful imagination, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the design of the vamp f/x were all his doing. He heavily influenced the creature designs for Pan's Labyrinth, and these creatures are somewhat similar.

Also - loved the way the head vamp moved through the barracks in the flashback to WWII - very cool f/x and idea.

I won't give them or who they are... But it ain't that guy.

I'd hate to see spoilers before watching unless it's minor. But best to avoid the thread til after you watch.

That way we can share our thoughts. I feel you on commercials. And it seems this site has tons!

Loving this show so far myself. Its definitely picking up now that I've seen episode 7. It started a little slow but the payoff is higher IMO.

I was liking it until part of this night's episode. Why do most horror movies have people do some pretty dumb things? When you have a person with a tongue fly out and smack your windshield, you don't go, "Well that's peculiar. I think I'll confront the guy."

As TXSTYLE stated, the end made the show interesting again.

He saw that giant mouth appendage hit the glass!! Why would you ask, "What's that, what's going on?"
And then get it off the car too???

Stupid fuk! I mean do the writer/director think people are that dense? Or is this what some people would really do???

I'm on episode 4 right now and that dude's wife, Annie is a fucking dumb ass bitch. Saw her husband drink blood and thought nothing of it. Saw the dog dead and sas like "oh he didn't mean it." Saw that he turned into a monster and said "oh he's just sick." I mean fuck are people just that naive and shit? Dumb bitch. I was hoping to see her get torn to pieces so she learns her lesson.

I'm glad to know that if I got caught up in some unfortunate horrific shit such as this, I'd have done survivors with me lol! Yeah she was beyond idiotic.
It's as if writers feel as though they must have these epic dipshits in every horror flick. I want to see realistic mofos like me for a change.
What about the boyfriend of the lead CDC characters ex wife? This fuktard sees his coworker collapse in his arms with a giant bite to the neck and he goes looking for the culprit and sees two shady characters down the hall. What did he do? Yells hey who are you and goes to investigate!

Seriously, those people annoy me. I used to watch Walking Dead with an ex and she asked me what I would do if she turned into a zombie. I straight up told her that I would shoot her in the head or chop it off.

When she got offended I told her "wtf you want me to do? A zombie is no longer a damn human!" Fuck some people are just so damn naive and stupid it's not even funny.

Just watched the last episode, I thought the back story and close up on the "master" was interesting.

Can't wait for them to bring back the 'blade warriors', that story line could be great.

It could be better, but thankfully it isn't worse.

Based on the intelligence level of some of the people I see on a daily basis, I think it is a pretty fair representation of "common sense" today.

Are you looking forward to AHS FreakShow? I saw the extended ad this weekend..
