New Etrade application now spies on you

These permissions are becoming ridiculous to say the least. Application requests permission to take pictures and videos of user at any time.

If you downloaded the application before then no but if you download it today then you get the new version with this new Spyware feature and if you upgrade today then it automatically installs its self on your smartphone with no option for us to decline or remove this option. Slowly but surely many people are losing their freedom in the US and abroad.

I downloaded this application to trade stocks. WTF does it need to be able to at any time be able to access my personal camera to take pictures and record videos? Videos are sound capable that means it can record all audio as well. This is ridiculous if you ask me.

Is this a new trading software they released for the computer or for mobile devices?

That is garbage. It is against the law in quite a few states for audio recordings to be made without all parties consenting. If they activate video and capture any audio (of anyone around you) they would be breaking the law.

Perhaps I should have made it more clear, this notice was seen on Android Market for Android Devices. Not sure about Apple devices as Apples screens these things for approval and may not approve of such features where the application spies on you. On the Android Market just about anything goes. This can been seen as good or as bad as we now see.

Very true, with Video the video records both images and audio even though there may be no image the audio does get recorded. Some of these new application permissions these days are very ridiculous. We download basic applications that we need and they take advantage of these necessities that they offer us by adding spyware on top of them. Most people do not read the little writing crap that they add and just accept all permissions to get the application on their device knowing very little that they just approved for this application to pretty much be spying on them 24/7.

No one said it was supposed to be found any where else. If you have an Android Smartphone go to Android Market, download the Etrade application and read the permissions for your self There was a new update issued for Apple as well but on the Apple based operating system these permissions did not show up. Either Apple does not allow these permissions or they stuck them in there without telling the guys at Apple about them

Have you tried their platform? Very nice platform on the Apple. They have a very nice platform for frequent traders. Their platform on the iPhone is also not too bad.
