Cologne

Just a quick question I need to know. I'm sitting at work with a heavy smoke smell coming from my shirt, making me sick. I live with two heavy chain smokers, and commute in their car now instead of mine, and they smoke non stop with the windows barely cracked. No offense to any smokers out there, but I am a person who can't stand the smell of this. So I'm wondering if anyone knows if cologne will get rid of that smell. Maybe you know people who smoke but only smell the cologne. I usually never wore cologne because I didn't need to, and my previous job looked down upon it. But this smell on my is bad. So please any feedback will be great.

Cologne will not get rid of the smell. You will just smell like smoke AND cologne. It will be bad, trust me.

Tell those people to stop smoking..
I worked in fragrance P/T during university.. so I can tell you it won't work. I also hate the smell of smoke.. I think it's one of the most vile smells that exists in the fact that it permeates every fabric in the vicinity.. The solution, is to wash your shirt (and hair probably, too).

Smoking in cars, in my opinion, is ridiculous. Just as bad as slurping drinks in them.

Wish I could, the only time they sort of listen is when I drive my car, but all they do is just smoke right outside the car and bring the damn ashes into the car. So yeah, pit stops to and from work

Find new carpool buddies, then. I feel your pain, and I wouldn't put up with it at all. It would drive me crazy.

The smell in your clothes are the least of your worries IMO ... If you want to carpool, I would go with people who care about your health

Yeah, I've mentioned it before, which is why one of them hates me. I was told by one of them that she'd rather die first then give up smoking. I was like damn...thats sad.

Try febreeze. Not the best answer, but better than the cologne/smoke mix you'd get if you doused yourself. Just spray it on and let it air out a bit.

Alright, I'll try the febreeze, I just remember from a long time ago my grandparents used febreeze in their car a lot and it made it unbearable. Maybe its used differently on clothes.

Ok, ok...I am a smoker :iono:

Although I like to smoke, I have never and will never smoke in my car, or anyone else's car. I always walk away and smoke into the wind so it blows away from the vehicle.

Do you worry about the smoke smell you get on your clothes? If so what do you do about it?

A nice Black Ice rub down...

...I do worry about it, when getting in my car. But I make sure that I don't blow smoke on myself.

Usually if you go outside it's not as bad. I never understood people smoking in their cars either...tacky, dirty, makes a mess. I quit smoking full time and dont really miss it too much. I'll still have one or two if im out drinking with friends though. Old habits...

Maybe just finding some new people to commute with wouldnt be an awful idea.

Tell them to at least have the courtesy to open their windows more & blow out while you are in there. I'm a smoker (who is on a quitting plan, I should note) and when I'm in the car I try my best to make sure that other passengers do NOT get smoke around them...

Maybe I'll just roll down the windows all the way. And since we leave at around 5-6 in the morning, itll be unpleasant, but for me being use to the cold of surfing, the wind will be no prob for me.

Google some images of lung-cancer victims, tell em' you don't want to be one of those, or, just don't carpool with the fools.
