i have seen an old guy maybe in his 80's wearing a helmet in an old a** grand marquis. He had a bungee cord that went over the roof and inside of the roof which held the doors close. Every time he hit a bump the doors would open a little because the bungee cord had a little play. I guess he really needed the helmet just in case he had to tuck and roll lol

One time I rode an electric scooter around with a motorcycle helmet on. I got so many looks and I recall two girls in a car pointing and laughing hahaha. I think I was laughing harder though

It would be pretty lame, although kids under about age 12 might think it cool.

I checked Illinois motor vehcle code and could find nothing that would specifically prohibit this, as long as there is no headphone or intercom device being used (these are legal only when riding a motorcycle). But it would be a mess if you got into an accident and were sued for wearing a helmet that reduced your ability to see to the side.

Lol thats pretty cool! Any pics? lol

I always wonder after doing track days and have my helmet in the car, what would people think if I drive around a helmet if someone asks me I would probably say, for safety reasons

HaHa...under Article XIV in Illinois I am certain an officer will give you a warning unless you are in Arl Hts or Buffalo Grove. They will give you a ticket for being a dork b/c they need extra revenue.

A full helmet has obvious potential for red light cameras, but I kinda doubt it's legal in most states.

ATCO in NJ makes you wear a helmet for 1/4 mile, along with many other 1/4 mile tracks I assume.

But, many Youtube videos I see of 1/4 mile runs, the driver doesn't have one on. Is it odd that my home track requires this?

Last track I went to required a helmet for any one running in the 13s or lower.

In on the race to get their girlfriend wearing the horsehead. Some times I just feel like a horse in space......

Lol, you know I've often thought of this, just to get the freak factor out of people. Sure, they'd be murmuring things like "weird" and "stupid", but there's gonna be that one guy, that one "special" guy that will look at you and want to race. I'd put money on it. Not only are you in a BMW, you're in a BMW with a helmet on!

You don't quit playing because you get old. You get old because you quit playing.

I wore a flak/kevlar years back while driving with some friends to pick up fireworks. Many weird looks were seen. Alcohol was involved (I wasn't driving though).

I did this with my brother and my best friend... they lost a bet so my brother dressed up in his full race suit and stig helmet and went to cookout and walked up to the window and my friend who also lost had to pretend to order for him (since everyone knows the stig can't talk) and my brother would just nod and be silent... pretty damn funny to me but most of the people didn't get it. One guy from the kitchen yelled out "oh snap! its the stig!!!" and that made it all worth it.

You want some looks then wear a Michael Myers from Halloween mask in your car at night. Trust me on this one.

Not a race, team effort. Imagine a convoy of cars with everyone wearing horse heads. Too bad the visibility in those masks is shit.

Ah I see. Well I'll be sure to bring my horse head to Timmayfest and highly encourage any one else going to bring theirs. Would make a great group photo
