Mods to be made to e92 monaco blue 328xi
Hey guys, I'm a new BMW driver and new to this site as well. 4 weeks ago I purchased a 2007 monaco blue 328i coupe with silver trim and wanted to try to mod it a little bit. I want to go for a classy but aggressive look without making me look a douche bag haha. The owner before me already added after market rims, intake, and rear spoiler. I was thinking of maybe adding carbon fiber accents (front spoiler/lip, mirror covers, door handles etc) but was wondering if it would look good and show up well due to the fact that it's a really dark blue. Any other ideas you guys have would be great! Keep in mind that I'm 17 and don't have the largest budget.

Nice, looks good! Here is what I did and very happy with it. Bmw high kick spoiler (carbon), black rims Miro 111 19, bmw performance brake (Brembo) kit from tisher, aa tune, 3 stage intake and tune, black kidney, all trim wrapped matt black, smoked side and rear (light), all reflectors painted body, k&n filter, charcoal delete, air silencer delete, magnaflow, removed exhaust silencer, h pipe, ecs red steel braided lines, new AGM battery, all new led's from HPB, blinkers, reverses, side, and xenon fogs, m3 control arrms. Mtec rear, m3 front and side, no fake badges, 275/245 tires, rolled fenders, re-prog/lots of coding with Paul the man! Love it!

This thread reminded me that I need a BBK. I'd say drop it first then get shadowline window trim, performance lip spoiler, M-sport conversion, and some less poser-ish wheels. Then later on a performance exhuast and intake as well as a secondary cat delete and tune.

first thing I would do is get rid of the chrome trim and kidney grills I personally am not a fan at all of chrome anywhere so thats the first thing i did. then depending on your budget I would go with both the bmw performance exhaust as well as either lowering springs or coilovers whichever you can afford. I just recently got kw v1's and am very pleased with them so if it is possible i would reccomend coilovers for sure.

IMO
First thing I would do before any of the other mods, which will really change the look of the car is get rid of the SE front bumper and get at least an M Sport. 2nd, you have chrome all over, black it all out along with the front grills. Lastly the car is sitting quite high, so lowering it would be the 3rd thing to do. After that you can stop as it would look really nice already, maybe get rid of the yellow side marker too, and that's it.

Looks great already. For cosmetics alone, I would just black out the grills with PlastiDip (except the M color bands on the left grill). Then debadge by blacking out the roundel and the model badge. Also black the window trim.
One can of black PlastiDip should be plenty and cost all of $10. And if it doesn't look right when you're done, you can just peel it right off... As far as performance mods, what others have suggested can be pricey, but take your time and you will gradually build it. It's not a race to mod it all at once. Do lots of research for every step of your mod path. [Edit:] And if you want to keep it looking classy, don't hang all kinds of crap, big spoiler or diffuser, or make it look too blingy... Keep it clean and simple.

+1 - My next e92 is going to be Blue. Preferrably Le Mans Blue (if I can find one). Might have to be an M3, not sure.

But most importantly, take care of the car before you mod it. Learn the service intervals, and also what some of the common problems are. Beware the water pump. Remember oil is to be BMW Long Life certified. Welcome, and enjoy the car! |

Cheapest = Springs on OEM shocks, but the ride will be garbage and you'll shorten the life of your shocks.
Next Cheapest = Spring and shock combo, but you still have a little bit of a reverse rake which would bother me everyday. Best route (IMO) = Coilovers. You can get a good set for ~$1,300. You'll also need to get an alignment after changing the suspension.
