UFC welterweight champ

Any fans around here? I'm just so proud and happy to see Matt "the terror" Serra win. No one really believed he could do it...

Un-freaking-believable! I was torn between the two fighters because both of them trained at my gym, but I was giving the edge to GSP (as were most people). Do you train slalomfever? I wanna go to Matt's gym and check out the belt haha.

gsp is the best when he's in pure attacking mode... you could see he was following smart and safe strategy, but serra got lucky... I also hate that two face mothef@cker matt hues, when gsp lost he was so happy and said "im loving it"... no sh!t you loving it since you going to fight serra and win that belt easily... serra is no champ, he got lucky that is all... gsp will be back

cant wait for next ufc, mirko and arlovski fighting

Yes, I train with Serra BJJ in East Meadow, NY. Which gym do you train at? Like you, I was shocked at how tentative and cautious GSP was. Not everyone believes this could happen but I've seen how Matt Serra trains and the dedication he put to get this belt. Lucky punch or not, bottom line is there is a NEW welter-weight champion in the UFC and he's not from Canada. BTW, I've met GSP 2 months ago and that guy is really a true class act. He will be back and learn from this and eventually be the champ again.

Awesome, another E90Poster and BJJ player in NYC. I train at Renzo's in Manhattan. Matt was the coolest guy when I spoke with him last year at the East Meadow academy. The half-cage was really impressive too (we don't have one of those haha). Big congratulations to Matt and his camp for bringing home the belt!
