Oh boy...Nickelback and Alter Bridge? *shudders*

For pure melancholy, I'd suggest almost any album by the Swans...be prepared, this is DARK stuff and also musically brilliant. Check out some of Bob Mould's stuff, as well. Notably, Anymore Time Between, Roll Over and Die, [i]Black Sheets of Rain[i] and Hanging Tree.

Lux, I work in radio so can give you all the sad songs you want, but that won't help your cause.

What I would recommend is for you to get a journal... and when you feel down, start to write your thoughts.

Listening to sad songs about a lost love and getting drunk at the same time will only make things worse for you.

It'll keep those same thoughts in your brain forever.

Trust me! Please go get a journal and write, write, write when you feel down.

We’ve all had failed relationships so I've been where you are, did what you're doing now, and it's taken me 4 years to crawl out of the hole I dug for myself.

Looking back, I should have done healthier things for myself to get me through tough times.

Don't do the same as I did, it’s really no fun in the long run! Chin up!

Good luck!

+1

but if you want some sad songs ill give you these (these songs have positive meaning in them, hope they'd help):

heaven knows- rick price

will of the wind- (i forgot the singer)

shadow proves the sunshine- switchfoot (they have a lot of encouraging songs. check them out. especially their beautiful letdown CD)

and when you get over the difficulties, never fall on the same pit twice. and dont make the first pit deeper than it is now. start climbing up.
