There will have to be some team orders for Webber to win. Vettel is the quicker of the two.

Alonso should win the championship, unless Webber pulls a win out of his ass.

Alonso got the initiative with 8 point cushion, however Vettel has the raw pace for qualifying and pole is in sight, Webber's RBR is so far reliable and consistently fast.

Scenario, towards the end of the Abu Dhabi GP, Vettel P1, Webber P2, Alonso P3.
You'd think Vettel will let Webber pass and at least have a RBR WDC? Or hold position and let Alonso win the WDC?

Alonso 246 (+15) = 261
Webber 238 (+18) = 256
Vettel 231 (+25) = 256

He'd be giving up 2nd place for 3rd, so depending what that means for his future (I don't know). He ended up 2nd last year for a point, right? Third would be a decline. Second again would be even. And not bad second in the world twice in a row at 23. He probably would have won handily just without his last blown engine (engine supposedly had plenty of life left; obviously defective, and Renault apologized, but what for?). Anyway, he might do it but deliberately, to let the world know he was 2nd, but did it for the team. Great question.

Back to FA. Odds are in his favor, definitely. But as I said before, if he wins by less than 8 points, it'd be yet another illegitimate win. He deserves to DNF, to even things out with Vettel and Webber due to Korea. As Vettel said 'I don't wish him bad, but wouldn't mind some Ferrari smoke '. And let the 2 RedBulls duke it out . But realistically, looks awfully hard for Vettel; he'd have to have extremely good luck, and he's had just the opposite. Odds are FA, MW, and SV; just the opposite order I wanted it .

I don't see how he would NOT give up P1 for Weber to win the WDC

IMO anything other than winning the WDC is meaningless.

exactly, all of these drivers have ricky bobby mentality, first or last. I dont see how Vettel wouldnt give up P1 if FA was P3 and he had no chance of winning the WDC

The boss of Red Bull just made an interview saying there will be no team orders in the last race. He prefers loosing in a honest way then winning by cheating. He also states that it is strange that Ferrari was heavily criticized for the teamorder this year, and now Red Bull is criticized for not giving one.

I think it's only natural to think that the top three will automatically finish in the top three, but with a track like Abu Dhabi the McLarens might spoil the party. Of course if FA finishes ahead of the Red Bulls its over, but the McLarens could finish in between the red bulls and the ferrari?? You never know, and that is why I will be glued to my T.V. set!

If it was hamilton webber vettel alonso, and I was hamilton, I would wreck on the last lap in a place where the safety car has to come out just to make alonso lose.

hard to compare from last year since the cars are very much different due to fuel levels but iirc, Red Bull dominated last years race. I cant wait, fridays practice cant come soon enough

That's exactly what the sport is all about. The 'winning at any cost' mentality kills ANY sport IMO. Glad somebody still has the respect the sport deserves . And on your last statement, how ironic, but true. More than criticizing, everybody was expecting them to execute the 'order'. Glad they proved all the cheating-approving folks wrong .

What the hell for? Just let Weber by . You'd have to be extremely stupid to do that. He'd probably lose his job, be fined, and never drive F1 again. At least Picket Jr. had the team order to crash. Imagine doing it by yourself? Career suicide guaranteed.

Actually no. Lewis Hamilton dominated last years race and then had a mechanical failure which handed the win to Vettel.

How would that be any different than if the below scenario occured? vvvv

If Vettel were to just let Webber by and Webber won WDC, wouldn't that be just as illegitimate as Alonso? (Both result in artificial race standings, stemming from one team member letting the other pass).

If Hamilton is leading and Webber is behind him he will definitely let him pass to win the WDC. There is no lost love between Hamilton and Alonso.

If Vettel doesn't let Weber pass, he will define the word selfish in the WIKI.
