2010 Chevy Camaro SS 0-60mph in 4.6s, 1/4mi in 13.4s, Nurburgring Lap time of 8:20
sources:
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=129496 http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/22/c...-ring-in-8-20/ assuming it wants to be priced not too high over the Mustang GT and right under the Challenger SRT8, I'm gonna roughly estimate maybe a $35-40k price. For those times listed above...this car looks like a performance value monster. I knew this car would be good, but no where near as good as this :eyebulge:

Better than the mustang. 135 vs Camaro subjectivity aside I think the 135i might be better bang for the buck, though it's speculation at this point.

The writing in those 2 articles seems sketchy....they are rating the camaro as 2 seconds faster than a cobalt and 5 second faster than older BMW cars (BMW E46 M3 and the last generation BMW M Coupe)
new 300-horsepower 3.6-liter V6-equipped 422-hp 6.2-liter LS3 V8 they trying to compete with the 135i and 08 m3? |

The Cobalt is what really blows my mind. That is a serious little car. Too bad it is stuck in a Cobalt body. That will keep a lot of people from taking it seriously.

Knowing a fair bit about the car and people that have driven it I would say those #s sound feasible, but can say that it's nowhere near the driver's car that a BMW is.
Should be a fun vehicle, but definitely not for me.

I saw the Camaro at the auto show. I thought the thing looks huge. Like the size of a Chrysler 300. Why couldn't the scale be more the size of a 67 to 69 car. With the big V8 the numbers almost mirror the 135I. Hard to get excited about it. Does GM's timing suck to release this car now with gas prices so high?. They Should have released a battery operated one. Or a transformer that is also a suv.

As for gas crisis it is a risk but they'll start doing the turbo motor in no time and then I'm sure more will join.

Are you kidding me? The V6 model has about the same power as the 135 and the SS will have well over 100 more hp for less money than a 135. Not to mention the LS3 will blow the doors off most any 135 with about $800 in mods. They are two totally different cars, but bang for the buck would for sure go to the Camaro. Those times are badass and VERY impressive for a 3800+lb car. About the Cobalt SS, its one hell of a car. It set a new record for front-drive sport-compacts, with that 8:22 Nurburgring run. Its a steal for $22k. |

The Camaro weighs about the same as my GTO, and has more power. GTOs will run high 12 second 1/4 miles bone stock. I'd be shocked if the Camaro is that slow through the 1/4, considering it's got wider tires, more power, and a new transmission. That is, unless they're running a stupid tall gear ratio to increase the mileage.

Few months ago almost bought a Camaro Z28. At this point glad I didn't, but I will definitely be at the Chevy dealership very soon to test it out. I will be sure to take a few pics and give a full and complete review.
