Dating: if you had 2 cars, which one would you show up with on the date?

Let's say you meet a girl and you ask her out on a date... And you have two cars... A BMW and an inferior car. Which one would you take her out on the first date with?

LOL, good question

I have one of these cheapo Fiat Panda 4x4s for everyday city driving (shopping, school run, etc.):

and the e90 for 'sexy' stuff, like long-distance road trips & holidays with the g/f.

I have discussed this question with my son and he agrees that to REALLY impress women (at least the type I'm interested in), the best (albeit slightly risky) strategy is to keep the e90 hidden away as long as possible, not mention it at all and then pull it out of the garage after a few weeks when the occasion calls for it.

It's a bit like wearing expensive designer underwear: nobody knows you're wearing it until you actually get undressed, and the impact is all the greater for it

I agree with Paul
But it does depend on the girl and what your after in the relationship. If your serious about the girl, keep the E90 out of sight because you want the girl to like you, not your car. If it's a casual fling, take the beamer and show off, get the most of it

Take the bimmer, if the date doesn't go well you can ditch her early and still have a fun ride.

Depends

If the BMW is a Z4, drive that. It's a date, after all.

If the BMW is an E90, drive the inferior car. Show up in the E90 and she'll think you've hidden away the child safety seat - and probably the wedding ring, unless you've already noted that you are a single dad.

But if you are a single guy who is so awash in money that you own two cars in the first place, why not just trade them both in for a Boxster or a Z4 and look the part of the single guy?

The inferior car. Don't want to set the bar too high because you might run out of room.

Take whatever car you want. Let your intellect judge what she’s interested in. I showed up on an R6 once and she refused to get on it even after she had touched it flirtatiously on campus while I was parking it. We ended up ordering take out and walking to a park near her house for a picnic. Moral of the story, you wont figure them out. Trust your gut after you get to know her.

I actually have a similar situation, but with a twist. My other car is a heavily modified Mustang. I haven't removed any of the creature comforts in the car like a/c, stereo, etc. but it is pretty loud. There is also a roll cage in the car that you have to watch out for or you could bang your leg or scratch yourself. What would you guys do in that situation, where you can either drive the E90 or the heavily modified Mustang on a first date?

Bring the Fiat. If nothing happens beyond the 1st date, then she is a money hungry b*&ch and will never be happy.
Like the others said, if you are looking for a one night stand , bring the E90

I have a Z4 and a 325,

people think the 3 series is a more $$$$$ vehicle and is more luxurious

I'll usually try and take whichever car on a 1st date that will get less attention from the girl so that when you go on a second date with her then you can impress her with the other car

take your crummy car!

If I was hiring a model, I'd forget the girl that was suposed to go on the date and hang out with the female model. Also maybe I'd save the rental fee on the porsche and get a hotel room

i meant a male model (to take the porsche and go on the date in my place so that everything looks perfect).

i was being sarcastic because people are just overthinking this whole issue. take the car, which is your primary car. if you have a honda civic for your daily commute and an E90 for nice occasions, why in the world would you even consider taking the civic on a date???

now, if i had a Z4 and an E90, like you do, that would be a tough one because i love both cars.

so, my point was that i wouldn't even think about it because i would automatically take the car I like better.

Yeah, I don't think the car matters as much as where your taking her. If your going to one of the nicer restaurants in town take the good car and if your going to like McDonalds. Well you know what I mean...

Better yet, tell her to pick you up! Then if you sense that there is a connection, you can pick her up in the crappy car. If things start to progress, then tell her about the bimmer and just say that you were trying to keep the miles off of it, and it's not that important to you. That's why you didn't mention it. If there is no connection, but she is hot and has a nice car (what the heck am I saying...if she is hot period), then I would try to get as much out of her as possible. Sorry to sound so cruel to all of the girls on this forum, but hey, the majority (by majority I mean 98.9%) of girls do this to guys all the time. Come on guys, where are the playa's at?
