how many miles do you drive to get to work?

My work is 30 miles away, but it has its own bus shuttle that is 5 miles away. So I drive a total of 10 miles a day.

47 miles each way, half of it through downtown traffic. It sucks, especially if there is a game/event downtown or bad weather. Couldn't argue the pay/promotion though.

Thanks guys for the replies. Seems that other are on the same boat as well. Do you find it difficult? I mean do you catch yourself wanting to sleep?? I know that in time i'll get used to it but really my main concern is falling asleep on the return

13km each way.... 5km autobahn strip and at 6am, it is quite exhilarating...

maybe it's a bay area thing, I know plenty of people with insane commutes. Without trying I can think of 5 people who commute 120 to 140 miles round trip every day. Yesterday I talked to a guy who is going 108 miles each way!

not something I would want to do regularly

I would take a 40 mile no traffic commute over a 10 mile rush hr traffic

6 miles to the train station. 45 mins on train. .65 mile walk to the office.

The office is 5 miles from my house but I don't usually go in. I travel most of the time so the airport is a 1 hr train ride away.
