I hate to say it, but the sentiment of Jack's shenanigans with this car is accurate. Driving this car is all about enjoying the V-8.
The tech may be behind, but overall I feel like it's easy to forget that cars in this segment are all pretty nice to live with. It is easy to forgive the shortcomings when the car looks, sounds, pulls, and handles really well. So I agree 100% with their review.

The downshifts are AWESOME though. They happen right away when pulling the paddle. Worth it, IMO.
